Early reports coming in so not sure how viable any of this info is but they are saying 4-5 dead, several wounded.

Georgia has never had a mass school shooting. Every other school shooting in Georgia history has been two dudes beefing or somebody shooting at a basketball game or football game. This is awful.

Crazy, we lived in Barrow and my wife taught in the school system there until we moved a few years ago. Absolutely terrible thing to happen, praying for all those involved.

Damn. All schools need armed police at this point. Did they have that?

If we got m9ney for Ukraine, we got money for armed security/police at schools.

If we have money for anything outside these borders we have money for more secure schools.

They are in the middle of a press release. GBI Director said shooter was fourteen. Two teachers and two students killed. They credit school resource officer with fast response and taking shooter into custody.

Not that Richmond County schools are normally ever something to look at as a model. Years ago the BOE in Augusta started their own police force that are equivalent of a University Police Department meaning they are state certified police. Every high school and middle school has 2 officers, and elementary have 1.

Just the first $40B we sent Ukraine, could’ve built the most high tech system in every high school across the country

We didn't send $40B to Ukraine, we sent surplus and expired weapons and ammunitions from our stockpiles valued at $40B (or whatever the number is).

I just can't imagine a damn 14yo acting out like this. The fact he surrendered instead of killing himself (or suicide by cop) is a truly interesting plot twist here. It's as if having weapons pointed at him, looking his own death in the face, snapped him back to reality. I look forward to learning how he got his hands on the weapon...if he got it from home, the parents belong in prison.

Here it is…at an initial cost of $400,000

Ongoing costs for all 23,000 public high schools in America over 10 years doesn’t sniff $40B

Wrong. We sent them $40B of new equipment in the original bill that totaled like $90B or whatever.

Also, what do you think “surplus” means? Means we give that to them and spend that amount on new equipment for us….money that would not have otherwise been spent.

Either way, I’m not talking about the underlying reasons for these (which starts with religion and the family), I’m talking preventative measures
