Im heading down for the Mizzou vs aTm game in college station and was looking for pointers. We are staying off of university drive. Advise on bars and restaurants would be very helpful. Trying to avoid chain places like Buffalo wild wings. Will be there from friday night till sunday afternoon.
Your advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Good decision. You would be well advised to stay off of University Drive.

Pluckers and Gringo’s have started enforcing two beer limits here so I would avoid them even though the food is good. Just a heads up.

Well I’m not sure what advice you want on restaurants because I don’t know what food you like but there’s plenty of Mexican food restaurants and couple of good bbq spots.
-For bbq I would go to 1775 or Coopers
-For Mexican Food I would go to Jose’s in Bryan or Papa Perez. Now if you want a quick bite then go to Fuego to get a breakfast taco
-For Wings like someone else said you should go to Pluckers. Get their holy mac for an appetizer
-For Burgers I would go to Koppe Bridge
Now for bars obviously you should go to The Chicken. That’s basically the big spot but if you want more bar suggestions I would suggest go to the Rough Draught. They have all kinds of whiskey selections if you’re a whiskey guy and they also serve pizza. Another one would be Rebels. They have a ton of options for draft beers. All of these bars are walking distance from each other at Northgate.
Hope this helps!

Where ever you go avoid the numerous glory holes.

If you like big empty rooms with nothing to see and solitude, I’ve heard that the Hall of Champions is the place to go.

You guys still don’t know what a Hall is.
OP, go check out Johnny’s bar at Northgate and report back.

I still think Koppe Bridge Bar & Grill has the best burgers. But that’s just me.

If you need something fast, I really like Fuego's. Some folks might hate on it, but I like going when I am there. I echo 1775 or Coopers for BBQ.

Pretty much all of this.
1775 is hands down the best bbq in the B/CS area.
Northgate area has tons of bars: the chicken, corner bar, rough draught, etc.
A good breakfast spot is hullabaloo diner out in wellborn.
Most of the college station Mexican restaurants are chains, so if you want a good spot you’re likely going to Bryan. One exception is Polly’s Cosina at the intersection of wellborn road and rock prairie.
George Bush presidential library on campus is worth a tour if you’ve got time.

Something to eat? There’s several bathhouses in and around campus. I hear you can find all you can eat hotdogs on Thursdays. Unlimited sauce on demand.
I’ve never been but my good friend Bobby Possum Cod highly recommends it.

There use to be a whore house near campus and it was staffed by girls from UT that we’re paying there way through college. That sounds fun if it’s still there. It was Bear Bryant’s best recruiting tool when he coached there.

The Dixie Chicken had a very good burger but the place is a hole
Fuego’s is massively overrated and not very good

Coopers on the way into town from Houston for BBQ
Fuego on Texas Ave. for tacos & queso
The Chicken at Northgate for burgers (and Tijuana Fries … a must), atmosphere, and cold beer. It’s cliche, but still fun.
The Republic on University if you want more upscale/steakhouse and scotch.
Hit the tailgates in Aggie Park around the pond next to Kyle Field (as opposed to across Wellborn around Olsen Field and Reed Arena, where most of the big frat tailgates are). There are some great bourbon tent set-ups, as well as the traditional grills, big smokers, etc. where you’ll be more than welcomed.
Have a safe trip to CStat

Definitely check out the Dixie chicken at northgate.
For food, if you want fast food, check out Laynes (similar to Canes). Koppe bridge has great burgers. Breakfast check out hullabaloo diner on Wellborn.

If you want some real entertainment. Go walk around campus making sure to take short cuts walking on the grass...
