So Michigan officially gets away with it. Why call it punishment?

After getting caught breaking rules, stealing signs, and lying about it Michigan gets a heavy "punishment":
1. Their coach who no longer coaches college football has a 4 year show cause to keep him from coaching college football.
2. After winning a natty and all the financial rewards that go with it, they have to pay a fine.
3. There are some restrictions on when they can make recruiting phone calls and visits. Oh my.
4. They're on double secret probation for 3 years. IThe NCAA says if they commit more violations during that time they will REALLY be in trouble, and we're not kidding.
How many teams that aren't already serious contenders wouldn't risk cheating to win a natty if that's the kind of severe consequences they would face if caught? Michigan has the trophy and they DGAF. The NCAA ought to just close shop, no one fears them at all any more.

The NCAA doesn't want to get fired by the Big 10. Instead of whining about Michigan you should be celebrating the death of the NCAA.

They're punished with a championship. Just like North Carolina in basketball when they created automatic A classes.

No one screams louder about cheating than a bammer. They are masters on the subject, after all.

I'm pretty sure this is just for recruiting and has nothing to do with the stealing signs stuff.
Although I don't know what exactly you think is going to happen with that.
What punishment are you expecting exactly?

An Alabama fan whining about someone getting away with cheating?
Irony so thick you could cut it with a knife.

CFB will be governed by an independent entity within the next 3 years

What do you want them to do?

Is the irony of an Alabama fan complaining about this funny to anyone else? Your head coach quit because he couldn’t cheat anymore and have an advantage over other schools.
If you ain’t cheatin, you ain’t tryin.

The bammer fanbase should sit this one out.
For reals.
For reals.

“celebrating the death of the NCAA.”
Yea, this has really worked out well. I can’t believe with the state of college athletics right now that any rational person would say this.
The old NCAA would have never let this shite go and punishment would have been served.

Says the fan of the school that has more NCAA probations than anybody in the conference. Oh, the irony.

I'm not complaining, whining, or proposing anything. I'm just saying that if the NCAA is handing out punishment to prevent others from cheating, this isn't it. Just close shop and call it a day since no one has actually been punished. They kneecapped Alabama prior to Shula arriving but those days are apparently over, for better or worse..

Do you mean the way they punished Nick Saban and Alabama for buying teams year after year? New cars and cash for the order of the day? Recruits would post the pics on Facebook the day after they signed?
Or are you talking about the NCAA where Mark Emmert ran cover for his buddy Nick Saban, while going after other schools for minor infractions?
We know you Bammers miss the day where Alabama was allowed to get away with things no other school could attempt.

At least the Big10 suspended him for a few games when this blew up. I'm kind of surprised they did that. Would the SEC have done that?

Alabama received the harshest penalty since SMU’s death penalty because a booster paid Albert Means’ coach $150,000. The booster, Logan Young, was then murdered, likely at the behest of Tennessee booster Roy Adams.
Then, Alabama got hammered by the NCAA because athletes sold their text books, the same as damn near every other student that has ever attended college.
But there was some good to come out of it all. Phil Fulmer is still terrified to step foot in the state of Alabama.

stealing signs
Well look at it this way.... now college football has "in helmet" communication which will help those in the business of sign stealing.
Next up... hacking wifi signals and calling in your own plays.
