Do you think that the NIL money is making players think they have no accountability??

Yes, that and the portal. Across the board.

I’d retire if I was Kirby. He’s proved enough as a coach and has a boatload of $.
He’s not a babysitter and college football, NIL etc suck.

is 2nd degree cruelty to children in Georgia? Any person commits the offense of cruelty to children in the second degree when such person with criminal negligence causes a child under the age of 18 cruel or excessive physical or mental pain.
quote:
Georgia? Persons convicted of cruelty to children in the first degree face a minimum of five years in prison and can be sentenced to up to 20 years imprisonment. Second- and third-degree cruelty to children carry penalties of one to 10 years and one to three years imprisonment, respectively.
You pretty much just backed up what I was saying. Second degree is a little chicken shite misdemeeanor.

I didn't get abused or slapped in the face/head though. That's different than beating your kid/brother (for the second time).
Agreed. Spanking your kid is one thing. Striking them in the head/face is another. Particularly when the one doing the hitting is a 4 star, top-notch athlete. That's going to do a little more damage than your run-of-the-mill alcoholic father.

Second degree cruelty to children means that you were smacking someone around in the presence of children.
I am confused here.

in the presence is not the same as causing physical harm to a child.

Nah man Kirby kicked Adam Anderson
He played the game after the allegations were made and was a captain. They didn’t let him play but kept him around the program to the point of helping him set up a ProDay. They were even set to allow him to use UGA facilities for his proday until the student council told them no, at which point they helped him set up at a local highschool with UGA staff and equipment and players for his proday.
This revisionist UGA stuff is funny. By the way Anderson had 2 rape allegations against him in Athens.

Also this is why I have so much praise for Saban. It is absolutely remarkable how he kept a lid on it at Alabama with the amount of success they had during his tenure.
There were plenty of issues.
He was just usually able to keep the crazy in check while they were here (Rolando McClain, etc), but when even with all the support Bama gave them wasn’t enough and they became a distraction they were processed.
I’ll bet there were 15 guys who came through Tuscaloosa while he was here who had NFL 1st rd talent ceilings who didn’t buy in and had to go.
Alvin Kamara comes to mind as one who thankfully for him got it together before it was too late, but by his own admission he was a knucklehead when he was in Tuscaloosa.
The ability to “de-recruit” guys who have been sucked up to their entire career so they can buy in and develop to their potential is almost as important as the ability to sign those guys in the first place. I think part of that is having enough talent behind the 5* star kids so that they always know they can be replaced, but the other intangible ability to reach a kid is part of what made Saban who he was.

Is that the program line now? Playing football is not a legal right. The players are not employees and are expected to abide by team rules that not the same the criminal code.
The mental gymnastics you are doing to justify the culture problem at UGA are worthy of the Olympic Games.
