Agreed. Spanking your kid is one thing. Striking them in the head/face is another. Particularly when the one doing the hitting is a 4 star, top-notch athlete. That's going to do a little more damage than your run-of-the-mill alcoholic father.

There were plenty of issues.
He was just usually able to keep the crazy in check while they were here (Rolando McClain, etc), but when even with all the support Bama gave them wasn’t enough and they became a distraction they were processed.
I’ll bet there were 15 guys who came through Tuscaloosa while he was here who had NFL 1st rd talent ceilings who didn’t buy in and had to go.
Alvin Kamara comes to mind as one who thankfully for him got it together before it was too late, but by his own admission he was a knucklehead when he was in Tuscaloosa.
The ability to “de-recruit” guys who have been sucked up to their entire career so they can buy in and develop to their potential is almost as important as the ability to sign those guys in the first place. I think part of that is having enough talent behind the 5* star kids so that they always know they can be replaced, but the other intangible ability to reach a kid is part of what made Saban who he was.

Is that the program line now? Playing football is not a legal right. The players are not employees and are expected to abide by team rules that not the same the criminal code.
The mental gymnastics you are doing to justify the culture problem at UGA are worthy of the Olympic Games.
