but there’s almost zero chance he said that to Reggie Jackson.
Except for the fact that Reggie Jackson is saying that he said it to him.
And he’s not saying it really as a negative, more of telling a story around how the word wasn’t always used to attack black folks back then. It was just a commonly used word, unfortunately.
I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t heard my late grandfather use it in a similar fashion.

he was instrumental in bringing blacks into SEC football.

This is a falsehood that was perpetrated by (surprise) ESPN in a 30 by 30 show on SEC integration. Alabama was one of the last SEC schools to include black pllayers. It was preceded by Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn amd Mississippi State. It was equal with Georgia, and folowed by LSU and Ole Miss. The Sam "Bam" Cunningham USC win makes a compelling story about Alabama integration, but Bryant can't be described as instrumental when the SEC was integrated with or without Alabama.

This was the story I had heard, but it wasn’t via the 30 for 30 (which I haven’t seen). That story was told to me by some fine folks in Alabama when I lived in the state many moons ago.

This doesn't make any sense. You said I didn't know anything about you. I never claimed to know anything about you and I never asked for an explanation.

I have receive a 77% approval rating so far on this thread. I'm not sure how this thread backfired on me.

Topics on this board are supposed to be SEC related. All I did was post an article. Reggie Jackson being a racist was not part of the article. If Reggie Jackson is a racist then it is up to other posters to provide that side information in the comments section.

No, your racist arse wanted to come in here and make racist accusations against and SEC icon who has been dead for 41 years.
Don't want to talk about Reggie Jackson? Don't make threads with the title: Reggie Jackson said Bear Bryant once called him a "n..... boy
How stupid are you? You literally have Reggie Jackson in the title, then say, don't talk about him. STFU, you racist imbecile.

He was a wife beating drunk, but not a homosexual.
Oh, and he wasn't a racist.

Really? A straight transvestite? I guess it could happen. So the endowment for well endowed tell leaders has not what it looked like? Odd
