I heard today, according to On3, Bama football doesn’t have a 5 star committed in the 25 class. This is difficult for me to believe.

Any truth to it?

That’s crazy. Even with a new coach. I mean, it’s still Bama and the new coach was just in the playoffs.

Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 3 nationally by Rivals and 247, and No. 4 nationally by On3.

Also, no one has any five stars signed in their 2025 class. No four, three, two, one or zero stars have signed either.

3,3,4 national rankings according to the big 3 recruiting services. hope in one hand.. you know the rest

I think we'll end up 2 behind Ohio State this year, we'll be back to 1 next though.

Hell, we’re struggling so bad we don’t even have a 2 star signed.

According to Rivals and On3

Are you aware that Bama has twice as many players committed as LSU and still trails them in the rankings?

I just can’t get over not a single 5 star

I’m just going by what the On3 guy said during the podcast I was listening to.

I believe he said LSU had six commits and Bama had 11.

Rivals has Alabama #3 and LSU #13.
247 has Alabama #3 and LSU #11

On3 is the only service that has LSU that high. They have LSU at #2 and Alabama at #4.

The goalpost moving around here is quite humorous. When DeBoer was hired, many here said he couldn’t recruit. Period. Now he is showing ability to recruit well and the narrative is that Alabama is just recruiting itself and he and his staff have nothing to do with it. What will the narrative be if he continues to recruit well and has success on the field?

How many recruits do they have committed vs LSU? Does Rivals have Bama with any 5 star recruits, because that’s just crazy to think they wouldn’t have any signed?

While this is true, it's also true that according to ON3's rankings, Bama has no commits from any 5-stars despite having 17 commits (or maybe 18 as I think they got another today).

They have 1 5-star commit according to 247's composite which is what I tend to use.

Alabama doesn’t have any 5 star commitments according to Rivals. It’s June, though, so that will almost certainly change. My point is that they are still recruiting at a high level if they are ranked in the top 5 by all 3 recruiting services.

Also, you keep using the word “signed.” No recruits in the 2025 class are “signed” yet.

Rivals doesn’t have them with a single 5 star recruit either.

Wow.

That’s 18 commits and not a single 5 star. Poor LSU has 11 commits with two, 5 stars. The world is upside down.

Are you celebrating your 2025 recruiting class now?

That has never backfired. Never.

Part of Bama's ranking is volume. They have 17 commits (or perhaps 18 as they got another today I think). That tends to inflate a teams ranking when most of the other teams are sitting with 3-7 fewer commits. In past seasons Tennessee and UF got really excited about their recruiting classes this time of year when a part of the ranking was simple volume.

I think until you get close to early signing day, it's best to use the average ranking to see how teams are doing rather than the total points (in which numbers play a roll).

Bama is 12th in average player ranking according to Rivals (in my opinion the worst of those you listed).

They're 8th on ON3's rankings. 6th according to 247's composite (in my opinion the best).

That's a more accurate way to look at how they're doing... unless you want to be like UF and Tenn fans and get all excited because you have more commits early.

Again, you have to consider volume for the base rankings.

Notre Dame is 2nd in rivals, 2nd in 247 and 6th in ON3. But their class isn't that good. It's just VERY large right now (21 players). Bama is at 17/18 right now, while teams with higher average rankings per player like UGA, LSU and Clemson are at 13, 11 and 13 commits respectively.

Bama is doing well, but in the 6-10 range of doing well, not the 1-5 range. That shows with average player rankings. Under Saban Bama was always in the top 3 in that category for the entire recruiting season.
