UPDATE: Grubb has taken the Seahawks OC job.

It would really suck to lose him.

MacDonald leaves my Ravens and now may take Grubb from Alabama.

He might was we’ll have just walked right up to me and gave the bird straight to my face.

I think he turns it down as well. I mean Kalen and Grubb have worked together their entire careers and are close friends. Grubb could’ve came to Bama from Washington for Saban but he chose to stay with Kalen. I can’t imagine he would do that to him now.

How much of this offense is DeBoer and how much is it from Grubb?

Hasn't done anything yet at Alabama, what's to lose at this point?

Which makes it seem like a longshot hire for Seattle.

It's the price of having good coaches.

It's DeBoer's scheme, Grubb just runs it.

Not saying it wouldn't hurt to lose Grubb, but I certainly don't think it'd be the end of the world (provided we can bring in a guy who can develop QBs as well as Grubb).

Exactly . It is Deboer’s offense but would love to keep Grubb

ETA- kinda like Saban and the defense

Not sure he's going to take it honestly

Dude is real close with Deboer, has only been in Washington 2 years, and I just don't see him walking out on everything now when he could land a HC position in a year or two elsewhere

Maybe he does leave, but given how tight-knit these dudes have been the past few years I'd be surprised if he does

This would suck. There isn't a great OC out there right now.

Doesn’t mesh with the (deserved) Golding hate managing Saban’s defense.

Losing Grubb will hurt IMO. Next guy up is a complete unknown.

Grubb had the chance to greatly increase his salary last year, but chose to turn down Saban's offer. Bama'a OC job could be the stepping stone to a head coaching position in the future. The future of an OC with a new coach and coaching staff in the NFL would certainly be less secure.

Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer):

The Seahawks have requested to interview Lions pass-game coordinator Tanner Engstrand for their offensive coordinator job, per source. Engstrand is slated to meet with Tampa Bay for their OC spot and interviewed last week for the Patriots job.

My guess is they will focus on Engstrand. They did a great job with getting the most out of Goff.
