Bama will still have a big talent edge over every SEC team aside from UGA.
Bama lost their entire Secondary.
That is why I think Georgia, Tennessee and Oklahoma can beat them this season.
My prediction is that Bama goes 9-3 and doesn't qualify by playing the "Disrespect Card" in 2024.

Hate to bust everyone’s hope bubble, but the more things change the more they stay the same.
LSU
Bama
UGA
Those are the top tier programs in the SEC, and will continue to be so… at least until UGA falls on its face.
As far as the playoffs, I could legitimately see Ole Miss or Texas cracking it. Texas will play with passion and on an SEC high next year, like Mizzou and AnM did when they first came into conference. But, I can also see them falling backwards in years to come (just like Mizzou and AnM did). Okie and Texas are gonna understand very quickly the grind that goes along with an SEC schedule. It’s tough to get to the top ONE year, much less sustain it.

Very unlikely that this many teams lose 2 games or less.

So if Miss loses to LSU, who are the 3 teams LSU loses to?

My view on predictions is they're based on what is most likely to happen based on what we know now. Yeah, upsets will happen. But a prediction is based on what is likely to happen "on paper" based on what you think.
The truth is that if Texas and UGA both run through the SEC (other than the game against each other), there will ba a lot of 2-loss teams due to the way the schedule sets up with teams not playing.

UGA
Ole Miss
Texas, LSU, or Auburn

i'll believe in our defensive improvement when i see it.
we were soft as cat shite this year, nowhere to go but up but it's a long road to decency.

Alabama & Georgia fans should fully understand this. It all starts, and goes, as your O-line goes. Great O-line, great results. LSU returns their entire O-line.
Defense will be massively improved over last year.
Overall depth of team is significantly better than last year.
Yes, LSU will be better next year than this year even without Daniels.

You are correct, but would like to point out that last year LSU lost three games to teams that only lost two games collectively in the regular season. LSU had no defense at all. I don’t watch and record every little detail, and someone help me out. I don’t remember Alabama punting, and don’t think Ole Miss did more than once. Two points to make. If LSU could have gotten some stops, who knows have many records the offense could have broken. So can’t really be that hard to improve over last year’s defense. That said, offense is going to be pretty good, so improved defense hopefully requires only 30 points to win a game.

I think you're overestimating UT's passing game being able to take advantage of a weak secondary.
I think LSU will put up points on Bama. But can they stop Bama in return will be the question. Bama doesn't play Ole Miss or Texas (both who could take advantage of the secondary). The rest of the teams are too far behind in talent for it to matter what positions Bama is thin at.

As someone who’s followed Auburn football for over 40 years, I’d say it would be typical Auburn to make the playoff in 2024 for no other reason than they’re not supposed to. No other team in college football is as consistent as Auburn as doing the exact opposite of what they’re supposed to do.

LSU is going to take a big step back next year … you just struggled to beat a 5 loss team and no transfer savior is coming . Defenses don’t change automatically it takes time and just because you play a team at home doesn’t mean it’s an auto win .
Posted on 1/19/24 at 11:52 am to swampvol1
We finished this season 11-2 with a win against Ohio State and bring back pretty much our entire offense, have a top 10 transfer class coming in, the easiest SEC schedule next year and you don’t even put us on the cusp?

Georgia 11-1 Tennessee 10-2 Oklahoma 10-2 Texas 10-2 Alabama 9-3 LSU 9-3 Ole Miss 9-3 Missouri 8-4
UGA is the only sec team that is automatically going to be in the playoffs with the assumption whoever is at qb has a pulse .
Ole Miss should be better but with so many tough games you can’t pencil them into playoffs I do think they are logically the second best sec though but it’s real close between 2-5 teams .
Texas with Ewers coming back and their entire OL will be good on offense . Defensively they are going to take a huge step back imo their two big d tackles are what made Texas so good last year . They would be my 3rd team
Teams 4–9 have a chance at playoffs in no order OU, Bama, LSU, Missouri l/Tenn/Auburn. Every single team has major issues . OU will be much improved defensively maybe top 10 with 2 all Americans returning . Offensively have to see Jackson Arnold be more consistent. How many OL transfers can we get who can help the team we need 1-2 with most of OL going pro.
Bama who knows how good the qb is , how many players actually stay and how much depth is there after exodus , as a OU fan you can get into denial when your coach leaves and most of depth does too. Bama may turn out to be great but their coach will need time to iron out the kinks and it prob won’t be next year with all the new stuff going on.
LSU is going to take a big step back on offense , LSU fans are in denial about how far as well . Defensively it’s going to take a few years to get everyone up to speed on defense but it can’t be worse than the defense they had .
Missouri offense might be pretty good next year but losing their defensive coaches are going to hurt a lot and the only reason I even have them in consideration is because they have the softest sec schedule and on paper I don’t see them losing more than 3 games .
Tenn the new qb looked good in the bowl game but he’s a freshman and freshman have to learn the speed of the game . I think Tenn can compete with a lot of sec teams but as you seen this year they still have room to grow .
Auburn has a good coach and will do whatever it takes to get them playing better . They have coaching issues again this year , again it take time to get the players up to speed . They have just enough talent that could make a run .
I posted 9 teams but realistically 4-5
Only have shots .

Switch Ole Miss and LSU, and I think it's about right
I also never count out AU when they are counted out by the majority

There is no way in hell Bama only has two losses. 7-5 is realistic.
