Alabama - Paul Bear Bryant
Arkansas - we've had a few
Auburn - The Honorable Tommy Tuberville
Kentucky - Paul Bear Bryant
LSU - Cholly Mac
Mizzou - Emily Drinkwuss
Oklahoma - Barry Switzer
Texas - Fred Akers
Texas A&M - Paul Bear Bryant
And the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys can check in if they remember the Razorback who cultivated Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry on the same New York Giants coaching staff

He needed some food.
We didn't have any at that point.

Fred Akers was a good coach but he cluster fricked those two Cotton Bowls (ND & GA) then left Texas wandering the desert for the next 11 years.

His 1930 Fordyce team had a perfect season and claimed an Arkansas high school football state championship. An assistant coach from Alabama came to Fordyce in 1931 to scout two other players, who decided to go to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (Washington County), and ended up signing Bryant to an athletic scholarship for the University of Alabama.
Arkansas football luck. Get 2 out of 3 players and the one we didn’t get becomes the famous Bear Bryant.
He was coming to Arkansas to be head coach in 1941 but WWII broke out and he joined the navy. Struck out on him twice.

Bear Bryant was a HC at 4 schools, one being Maryland, so thank you.

He would have been fired by now if he came here. I’m sure he knew that.

Credit where credit's due: the State of Arkansas has had an outsized influence on football and football culture through either Arkansas natives or University of Arkansas alumni. It is impressive.

Does having a Memorandum of Understanding count as him being an Arkansas coach?

Actually Lane lived in Arkansas when his dad coached here so he is officially on the list.
