And Hugh Freeze will still manage to lose to the New Mexico States of the world. That is just who he is. A tiger doesn’t change his stripes. He will recruit well. He will pull off the occasional huge win. Fans will go nuts. And then he will completely waste it by shitting the bed losing to a far lesser team that shouldn’t even be on the field. He has done that everywhere he has ever coached, now including Auburn.

Auburn’s top 6 recruits for 24 were all flips.
Their top 2 recruits from 2023 were also flips from Florida State and Ohio State. Their starting center at the end of the season was from Miami.

They've been flipping a ton of recruits.

This thread seems familiar.

quote:

History will show that the flip of Rueben Foster to Auburn will go down as the single-most important event in changing the perception of the little/big brother roles in college football in the state of Alabama. Mainly because of what this manchild beast will do inside Jordan-Hare Stadium and the publicity that has surrounded the flip (press conference, tattoo, etc.). Not to mention the laundry list of fellow defensive recruits that are salivating at a chance to play with this wrecking ball on the field.

This guy's magnetism and mentality are no different that Cam's. Both are once in a generation players and we'll have had them in Orange in Blue in a span of four years. I've never seen a time in which truly informed Alabama fans, not the toothleess Wal-Mart Muldykes, have been in such anxiety and agony over the direction of the Auburn Football program. I love every second of it, and they see what's happening and can't do anything about it.

When you treat your players as family members and they play for you out of respect and admiration, things like 28-27 happen. When you have players that fear their coach, see rampant gray-shirting, bogus medical departures and wonder if they will have their scholarship the following year, things like a 24-0 complete meltdown implosion against your hated rival happen. It all starts at the top and CGC will go down as a legendary coach in college football history, not just Auburn history, Book It.

I tell all of the Bammers without hesitation that CGC will win more national championships at Auburn than Satan will at UTea. If you hook me up to a polygraph while saying it, I would pass because that's how much I believe it to be true. The perception of Auburn Football in-state and on a national level is changing. September 1st is about to open the country's eyes as to what tenacious Auburn football is all about, and I can't wait to watch the look on little dabo's face. These are great times to be an Auburn Tiger. A dynasty is in the making, and if you don't see it, you don't have a clue. War Damn Chizik and War Damn Eagle.

It's funny because it reads of a dude that probably has a trailer trash, porn star in the making kind of hot wife.

Gene chizik recruited players got to two championships and stopped bama from playing in the championship in 2010 and 2013. That was the last time auburn recruited at this level.

Gene Chizik was gone after the 2012 season.

Gus Malzahn took over in 2023.

He recruited the meat of the team though, which brings me back to the point that if you recruit really well (top 10) you can beat anyone

I'll give you 2013, but that was JHS and Gus voodoo. In fairness, Freeze has some of the Gus mojo that creates problems for Bama.

It had nothing to do with Chizik or the loss of a recruiting battle to AU

All of that said, it's a familiar tune, yet the old man and the program just keeps fighting off the grave that everyone tries to put them in.

we recruited well in 2017 as well and won the SEC West that year. lost to uga in the rematch after getting banged up in the IB. Remember, Auburn beat two number 1 teams in three weeks by double digits

No doubt Nick Saban is horrible against unranked teams. Interesting you should bring up that game from 2007. Do you know the last time Nick Saban lost to an unranked team? Also 2007. Against La Monroe.

During Freeze tenure at Ole Miss 2012-2016 he had 9 losses to unranked teams, including two to Vanderbilt. Do you know how many of those seasons he didn’t lose at least one game to an unranked team? Zero. In the two seasons he beat Alabama he also managed to lose to unranked Memphis and Arkansas twice. Counting this year, in six seasons as an SEC coach, Freeze has never had a season where he did not lose to an unranked team.

Nah, Bama has earned the ability to trash talk right now… we don’t need your permission. This is unlike AU, who talks more trash than any other cellar dweller fanbase I’ve ever seen.

I bet many already have.

That said, I did not like the Freeze hire at AU. He's a fake preacher that sells fake preacher shite, and they have funds. That aside, he's one of those who frustrate a Saban team no matter the talent differential, although he'll always have an NMSU or 4th and 25 or 4th and 31 game in him to his demise.

It's Bama or bust under him, as it was with Gus. In the end, the better-than-average series vs Bama won't be enough.

It doesn’t take much to be championship caliber at auburn. All they have to do is recruit. It’s been proven. They aren’t Texas a&m and it’s not a dog sh*t program like ole miss

They have to recruit at an elite level. Not Top 10. Top 3. Year in, year out.

Then they have to avoid losing to New Mexico State because they are overly concerned about Bama prep.

Then they have to coach better than that 4th and 31 defensive disaster they called…
