Serious question.

How does that work?

So they just keep promising their money is coming?

quote:

Texas A&M WR Evan Stewart on @Hayesfawcett3's latest IG post?? "I saw it coming freshman year when I didn't get paid a dollar from a&m but 'slice bread' had yall thinking we was all millionaires"

What the hell was going on in college station?

Each player gets a specific contract for their NIL money.

If performance metrics are involved it may take time to earn the money.

Not every NIL deal has the same terms and conditions.

A&M doesn’t pay anyone.

That’s the whole misconception with NIL.

Collectives aren’t the university.

The school can't hand out money so when he says "I never received a penny from A&M." He's not lying

But he received money.

Slice bread was a twitter poster.

Let me clarify.

The collectives were just going around promising money and not actually paying the kids what was promised for their signature?

WTF AGGIE?

Weren't one of the ONLY rules that came from NIL that your payment can't be tied to performance?

Sliced bread was the outfit that published a story how much they were paid.

Sounds like he was paid, but it was pennies on the dollar to the speculation.

He left out how many other "sponsors" supported his personal NIL agreements that may not have come directly from aTm, but they we're certainly not supporting him if he weren't there.

I don’t think these players are being told the truth about it.

They have to sign personal deals with companies etc.

I think these players assume the college just leaves a check in their locker.

Some of the deals struck before NSD “fall through” when collectives don’t generate the support they anticipate.

Well, he's clearly inferior to corn bread. He has his place in the world but he is inferior.

How does that work?

Keep the discussions oral and vague, convince the naive teenager with zero financial savvy that he's about to get paid big money, and then it's suddenly "surprise motherfricker, you don't have a contract."

It's almost like replacing salaries and contracts with booster funded sham endorsements was a fricking terrible idea.

Same school that told Dindy he'd stay at DE if he committed to them and then they moved him to DT like everyone else was recruiting him for. You're surprised?

Not football metrics.

Stuff like charity work. Signing sigs, etc.
