I REALLY LIKE THIS WIN!!
First SEC game. On the road. The team had to overcome a home team and refs that were hyped up by a pretty active home crowd for Mizzou.
Withstood some adversity, kept their poise and pulled it off.

This team is playing well together. Very impressive performance down the stretch the close these guys out. I like our chances at home vs Arky with a packed Steg! Go Dawgs!

Tchewa knew he was the biggest man on the court and he played like it.
That last rebound, where he just stood there holding the ball above his head with one hand while time ran out, kind of summed it up.

So, with our pretty tough conference schedule, what record do we need to be a tournament team, 21-9? 20-10?

I may be naive or hopeful, but if this team continues to improve and gel, they have a long runway.

The SEC could get 8-9 teams this year. There are some good obvious potential sleepers with UGA, SC, MSU, and Ole Miss. I believe we need 2 signature wins with taking 2/3 from the aforementioned. 500 definitely locks in an NIT. Final 4 in the SEC tournament would be good enough for an NCAA bid IMO.

I think this is a shot dependent team. When shots are falling, it fuels everywhere else. It’s a deep team. Every player that plays ia pretty good. We really don’t have a “bad” player on our team. If White can keep it together, they’ll do big things next year.

Obviously it depends on which games you win or lose, but I think we should be aiming for 21-10 or 22-9 in the regular season. We have some easier games in conference that we need to win and then grab 1or 2 upsets, then go 50/50 against the middle third of the SEC. Finally, need to win a couple games in the SECT.
This team has the capability to be right there in the discussion come March, just need to play consistent, make free throws and not get in a rut where we lose a string of games.

Arkansas comes to town tonight at 9est. I think there’s some buzz around campus about the team and expect a good crowd tonight with classes just starting Monday.

This is a big game. I hope we win. It will make Tennessee game that much bigger Saturday. I’ll be there. Can’t wait!
