Razorbacks vs Alcorn State
• Arkansas is 5-0 all time versus Alcorn State, all in Fayetteville.
• This is the second time Arkansas has hosted Alcorn State for a season opener. The Braves also opened the Razorbacks’ 2009-10 season.
• In that 2009 season opener, Arkansas won 130-68. Rotnei Clarke scored a school-record 51 points in the win, making an SEC-record 13 3-pointers (on 17 attempts). Arkansas only made 16 3-pointers as a team in that game.

Milestone Countdowns
• Eric Musselman 5 wins from 100 for his time at Arkansas.
• Davonte Davis 59 points from 1,000 for his career.
• Khalif Battle 129 points from 1,000 for his collegiate career.
• El Ellis 157 points from 1,000 for his collegiate career.
• Jeremiah Davenport scored 1,060 points in four years at Cincinnati.

November to Remember
• For the first time in program history, Arkansas will play eight games in the month of November. The previous most was seven last year and 2019-20
— Coach Muss’ first year.
• Nov. 6 is the second-earliest season opener in school history. The earliest opener came in 2019-20 versus Rice on Nov. 5 in Coach Muss’ first year.
• Arkansas has played as many as six times in the month on 10 occasions.
• Arkansas is 140-41 (.773) all-time in the month of November, including a 21-1 mark under Musselman.
• Arkansas did not play in the month of November until the 1969-70 season and only played seven total games in the month over the next 10 years.
• Arkansas has played at least once in November dating back to the 1993-94 championship season when they beat Murray State, 93-62, on Nov. 29 in the first game ever played in Bud Walton Arena.

Bud Walton Sold Out ... Again and Again and Again
• For the third consecutive year, season tickets for Arkansas men’s basketball sold out prior to a game being played. In fact, the 2023-24 season was officially sold out on July 27.

If anyone has or knows of two tickets for the UNC-Greensboro game I'll gladly purchase them, LL only.

With the return of college basketball tonight, the NCAA transfer portal player movement in the 2023 cycle has officially ended. This year the final wave of portal activity happened late in the summer with multiple players entering the portal after their school’s final summer school session ended.

Arkansas finishes the 2023 transfer cycle as the No. 1 team for portal recruiting, while West Virginia and St. John's landed at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

There is a solid chance that transfers will score more than half of all points scored in Division I men’s basketball this season, as recruiting the transfer portal has become a vital part of building a program.

Here is a look at the 10 best transfer portal classes in the nation.

1. ARKANSAS (4,151 points)

Arkansas transfers:

Khalif Battle (No. 16)

Tramon Mark (No. 23)

Keyon Menifield (No. 50)

El Ellis (No. 61)

Jeremiah Davenport (No. 107)

Chandler Lawson (three-stars)

The top recruiting class belongs to Arkansas and Battle is the headliner. An aggressive scoring guard who gets threes off the bounce, running in transition and off screens, Battle has deep range on his jumper.

Mark was an integral part of Houston’s Final Four team in the 2020-21 season. A shoulder injury shut down his sophomore season in December after seven games. He started all 37 games for a team that began the season ranked No. 3, never fell out of the top five and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Do not sleep on Ellis, who earned honorable mention All-ACC honors despite Louisville going 4-28 last season.
