Alabama baseball has been unwatchable for a long time. It’s the same old same old every year.
Spent some money on facilities hoping for success but then NIL/Portal came along. That 13 scholarship crap needs to end too but I guess the sport has no big investors.

Disagree, we had a very good hitting team this year, the one starter who went down killed us overall, we just do not have the back up arms. Lost way too many 8-7 10-9 type games, the batters lose hope after a while, they knew the pitchers would never get us four wins in a row after the opening loss.
Personally, with money opening up for NIL or straight paying players, I don't think the limited scholarships any more come int effect. Just offer them payment which covers a scholarship, plus a bit extra. Just a wat around that BS rule.....

U Da man. I am sorely disappointed in the results of the last 2-3 weeks. I had us going to the finals vs FSU. I give the season a Cplus. Losing 2 pitchers gave it the plus. HItting an A- and pitching an F. Fielding an A. Coaching probably a c plus. I was not able to watch as many games as I would have liked so the fielding is based on what I did get to see.

Like others, I’m disappointed in the end to the season. It started out so promising and ended like they were more than ready to pack it up and go home. Not going to pile on any more than that. Loved this season even with the poor ending and am looking forward to fall ball & next season with what will likely be a brand new team again. Enjoyed the engagement in this thread as well, so many thanks to those who participated.
With the House settlement, sports that survive will be full scholarship (no walk ons) so if baseball makes the cut, Bama should find it easier to attract and retain talent. It probably won’t be at least until the 2025-26 season if it comes to be. I plan to track the roster movement for the 2024-25 team in a new thread - time will only tell how active it will be. The portal opens Monday.
On a happier note, wanted to share this “commercial “ posted to YouTube in case folks hadn’t seen it yet. I don’t recall seeing anything quite like this before for baseball. I just wish they would do things like this earlier in the season.
Roll Tide and we’ll get them next year!

I said it earlier in the season and got downvoted into oblivion, but JJ kinda sucks as a pitching coach.
We finished the year with a 5.75 team ERA. That’s about as bad as I can ever remember.
None of our returning pitchers were even as good as they were last year, other than Myers, who was improved. Everybody else literally got worse. There was 0 development at all.
It’s common for us to give up 0-2 bombs. Or pitch to a really good hitter with a base open and two outs and proceed to give up a 3R HR.
I forgive Holman for getting the heck outa dodge.
I’ve also come to terms that in the day and age of everybody throwing 95+ MPH, there’s going to be pitchers getting hurt every year. It happens at every program across the country.
JJ rallied the troops last year and got us to a super regional. I give him all the credit for that.
Maybe he is a better head coach/game manager than actual pitching coach and needs to try his hand as a HC for a smaller school.

South Carolina has parted ways with head baseball coach Mark Kingston, according to multiple reports.
The decision was announced on Monday, a day after the Gamecocks season ended in a shutout loss against James Madison, 2-0, in the NCAA Tournament Raleigh Regional. It was the first time South Carolina had been held scoreless since April 3.
In seven seasons leading the Gamecocks, Kingston was 217-155 overall, with an 83-96 mark against SEC opponents. South Carolina reached the NCAA Tournament four times during his tenure, hosting two regionals and making the Super Regionals twice, in 2018 and 2023.
The Gamecocks were ranked as high as No. 13 this season, and after a win against Winthrop on May 7, were 33-15 overall and appeared poised to host a regional in Columbia for the second consecutive season. But they were swept in their final two series of the season against Georgia and Tennessee by a combined score of 60-28.
South Carolina surged in the SEC Tournament, reaching the semifinal for the first time since 2017 with impressive wins over Alabama, Arkansas and Kentucky, earning the No. 2 seed in the Raleigh regional.

Since the Corndogs got knocked out tonight, who do they blame? US or the SEC Network? Normally, it would be the SEC office, but since the network is in NC and they lost up there, just saying!!

It's like you don't know LSU fans at all. First they blame the refs/officials/umpires, then it goes to SEC offices and the REC, and finally it goes to their lack of night games

That is a ton of teams that are not traditional powers that may be making their first trip to the college world series or one of their first trips. Kind of gives you hope to be honest. If West Virginia or fricking UCONN can make it there is no reason why we shouldn't or can't. I understand they don't have to play in the SEC every week, but still. I have faith in this staff until they show me I shouldn't

If we had taken care of business in Tallahassee (which we didn’t), we’d be hosting UConn this weekend with a trip to Omaha on the line.
Heavy sigh.
Heavy sigh.

Nah! I know the Corndogs well! Started to ask it over on their board or just the Rant in general, but didn’t want banned due to their sensitive arses!!
