Honestly, with the way Kirby recruits and coaches players up, when GA loses on a kid, I just think another gets selected and plays just as well or close to it.

If FSU or University of Auburn gets KJ, good for them.

This has been one of the more fascinating recruitments in recent memory with no one having any idea where he is going. Hoping he picks AU, but good luck to him wherever he goes.

It’s not called University of Auburn

Yeah, but all of the best players that commit to Auburn say "University of Auburn" in their ceremonies.

With that said, he's staying home. UGA.

We're not supposed to read too much into it but a couple of FSU commitments are making the trip to the announcement tonight. CJ Heard a 3 star DB and childhood friend, and Kam Davis 4 star RB who's making the trip from Albany and has been one of KJ's biggest recruiters among the rest of the class. Dylan Riola will also be there since he's a current teammate and probably some other UGA recruits. This is going to be quite a thing lol

My tea leaves say UGA. Auburn seems to be fading the last couple of days and FSU doesn't make much sense to me.

Bama was not a factor. Everything I've read since yesterday points to Auburn being out.

Down to FSU & UGA.

Going with the mutts here.

of course w/ a 17yo kid and the new age of NIL - anything can happen.

This race was over a month ago and KJ was thought to have a commitment to UGA upcoming around 4th of July or shortly thereafter. AU wasn't a player and FSU was way behind.

Then, he took more visits and believe the NIL bids got hot and there was a lot of money on the table. Believe the count I heard is that in last 4 years KJ Bolden had been on 18 visits to Georgia and Kirby Smart has PERSONALLY recruited KJ as lead recruiter on him for the 4 years. All top recruits are special but there is little more juice and time invested on KJ by Kirby Smart than 99% of guys he has recruited. UGA had to raise their offer more than they are comfortable - but KJ will leave upfront money on the table to come to UGA.

AU is on Step#1 of rebuild and FSU maybe on Step#3 and both need some big recruiting pelts on the wall. Believe both teams were willing to put up big NIL bags. UGA had to at least be "in the game" on NIL and they weren't compared to AU / FSU. Freeze is trying to make a statement w/ this class and Yellawood is putting the money out there for him to do it. Already flipped a UGA(LB DeMarcus Riddick) and BAMA(WR Perry Thompson) 5-stars.

I expect UGA tonight but nothing would surprise me. What I do know is - whoever secures the verbal commitment tonight - this one will likely go all the way to signing day and KJ will still take his visits.

Wiltfong at 247 said FSU has the momentum and their mods seem fairly confident. I’ll go with FSU.

I would hope FSU has momentum as they alleged offered him a $1 million NIL deal.

$1 mill for a college safety given FSU is torpedoing their ACC affiliation without a landing spot and involving private equity firms in their financing, this totally tracks

Yes, this whole FSU is winning because of NIL things makes no sense. Like you said, they literally just came out begging for private investment like 3 days ago.

Congrats to whoever gets him. It has been a fun couple of weeks trying to speculate which of the three he chooses. Best of luck to the young man wherever he goes.

You reckon it's factoring into his decision that if he goes to UGA, he'll get developed into an AA on a national championship team and will likely go to the NFL with an income that will dwarf any NIL deal?

Maybe? But UGA is not the only route to be a highly drafted NFL player.

The best part about playing for a team like GA is you just need 1 good year of tape to get you drafted high because of the stage you get out on. GA isn’t the only school with this built in, but it’s significant

Guys flash for one year at literally every school in the country and get drafted high every season, what a ridiculous comment

True, but we've put 25 players in the NFL just in the last 2 seasons. Their chances are better at some schools than others. Doesn't that sound like an attractive stat for young lad with high hopes?
