4 Home
4 Away

Everyone has the same number of away and home conference games. In a 9 game setup, teams with 5 away conference games are at a disadvantage that season (both competition-wise and financially).

Can’t or shouldn’t?

It doesn’t shock anyone at all that a longhorn fan would have no moral compass on on a matter like this

You guys are so full of shite. "Think of the poor schools" is the argument for an SEC team playing Middle Tennessee State? If that's really your school's argument, just toss them the $200K and play another conference game.

One or two of those games per year keep their program financially viable.

That’s bull shite.

For Tennessee, they've played an in-state smaller program each year since 2018, giving those schools a significant boost in their revenue.

2023 - Austin Peay ($550,000 payout...program loses about $3 M per year)

2022 - UT Martin ($550,000 payout...program lost $108,000 in 2022)

2021 - Tennessee Tech ($500,000)

2019 - Chattanooga ($500,000)

2018 - East Tennessee State ($500,000)

So...the programs have been making 1/2 a million dollars or more for a short trip on a bus.

That’s bullshite. If that were the case, they why have other P5 conferences adopted 9 game schedules without issues?

If you’re scared, just admit it.
You are obviously too fricking stupid to comprehend my post.

Read the damn post before replying.

Go find some meaningless thread where you can fantasize the TU is something special, you dildo licking cocksucker.

First of all..MTSU is an FBS program...not an FCS program...so they don't need the money as much as some of the smaller in-state programs. Also...it isn't just the SEC who plays Conference USA Opponents.

In 2022:
UTEP played Oklahoma
Rice played USC
Louisiana Tech played Clemson
UTSA played Texas

As for MTSU...they've played P5 opponents outside of the SEC, too.

MTSU football opponents:
2022 - Miami (ACC)
2021 - Virginia Tech (ACC)
2019 - Michigan (Big 10), Duke (ACC), Iowa (Big 10)
2018 - Vanderbilt (SEC), Georgia (SEC)
2017 - Vanderbilt (SEC), Syracuse (ACC), Minnesota (Big 10)

Over the last 5 seasons, MTSU has played: 4 ACC Schools, 3 SEC Schools, 3 Big 10 Schools.

So you feel that staying at 8 games because teams are scared of potentially catching another L. I figured, just wanted to understand that.

No. It's probably to keep Texas from averaging 6.5 losses over the next 13 years. I mean, you guys claim you have a lot of sway, so that makes sense.

I'm confused why a Texas fan would want to take their record from 6-6 to 3-9?

If you still want to play them with a 9 game conference schedule, have at it. But I don't buy it as an argument against a 9 game schedule.

Sark went 5-7 in his first season, took an L to Kansas giving up 57 at home and failed to make a bowl game then he goes 8-5 in his second season and Texas fans act like Sark can walk on water now because TexASS beat OU in a fools gold game lmao

From 2009-2020, UT signed 17 players who ranked in the top-10 at either OT or IOL, good for second-most behind Ohio State (18).

Day 1 picks - 0/17
Drafted - 0/17
Transferred - 8/17

Rough.

SC plays their 8 game SEC schedule every year. In addition we play perennial top 10 Clemson out of conference every year. Most years we play an additional Power 5 game, such as NC this year.

Is South Carolina still required to play one of the smaller in-state schools?

Texas and it's fans should not have an opinion on this subject and it should be mandated.

You would assume MORE competitive conference games = MORE TV revenue...however,our moron conference commissioner FAILED to include that little clause in our most recent broadcast contract ! HOW is that even possible ?????????????????????

That's a valid issue.
