He's exceeded all expectations in his first year, capped off with this first full recruiting class. I give him an A, would have been A+ with win over woeful Aggies.

1. Closed the deal on four freshmen named to various All-American freshmen teams (Perkins, Campbell, Jones, Taylor);

2. Won games against two Top 10 teams;

3. Knocked Alabama out of the playoffs;

4. Won 9 games (with one to go);

5. Won the SEC West;

6. Delivered a top 5-6 recruiting class on early signing day this year.

Can't wait to see what he does over the next couple of years.

A

You can't get A+ with three losses.

But a solid A.

He beat Bama. I don't see a second one.

Grade would be. A lot better with wins over FSU and Texas A&M.

But road games are hard. I get it.

B+ first season

Have to give him an A-.

Specifically for never doing anything about the special teams issues that cost you at least 1 game and set the tone in two other losses.

I’ve said from the minute he was hired that he was a great coach and stand by that.

Not to mention other in game decisions like handing the ball off in shotgun on 4th and 1 against the best DL in the SEC

Would be A if not for the A&M debacle…. 10 wins would get it back there tho.

For a year 1?

88 out of 100. B+

Can't lose to the deflated tamu without losing some serious points, and with 4 losses i'd knock off 2 points to be sure he came in under an A.

Way better than I expected tbh.

Admittedly, me too.

Didn't think he'd be able to accomplish very much in Year 1, all things considered.

But finished unranked... huh?
Lol

The real question is if Brian Kelly can fix the defense in time for the bowl game.
They are too predictable and don't disguise coverage at all.
Even a do nothing Jimbo offense was able to have success.
And Stetson Bennett threw for 4 TDs in the first half.

A+ - changed from a B+

He beat Nick Saban and Alabama, won the west. With a team that started a WR at QB in the bowl game last year. frick everything else

I'd give them a solid B. I think when we started the season, 9 wins, beat Bama, win west, and cost Bama a playoff spot would be considered a season that went beyond expectations.

Getting handled by 3 opponents (including the last 2) as well as showing up flat in an A/M with everything still on the line takes it down a letter grade. Solid B it is

B

You don't get arse raped by an A&M team with a losing record when a possible playoff spot is on the line and get an A.

When you take a team that lost 5 to 7 games each of the previous two seasons and then win the west, you should get an A. But looking closer, can you give an A to a 4 or 5 loss team? I would say solid B.

So here's how YOU people look at it... LSU beats an undefeated ole miss team but since ole miss finished unranked it doesn't count for much. While other teams beat an unranked team that finishes ranked high... and oh look, what a great win.

Y'all crack me up. Y'all suck... but still crack me up.

Started as a solid B, then dropped to a C with the accent, then a C - with the creepy video, then a D with the FSU loss, then impressively climbed back to an A -, only to blow it vs Ags and end back at a solid B.

I'm glad you're happy.

Because that is how it always has been.
End of season rankings always trump week of.
If this is a hill that you want to die on (beating a 7-0 Ole Miss with the only good win over Troy. Ole Miss finishes 8-4 with its last win over A&M), Then that cracks me up.

Congrats on getting your arse kicked by my team that sucks.
