Turns out how you lose matters.

Not really close.

I get why Tenn fans are upset but this is some next level bullshite. South Carolina came into the game having just lost to florida 38-6.

South Carolina was not even CLOSE to being the hottest team in the country, and Tennessee was not upset, they were beat the hell up by 25 points.

This is what denial looks like. You can't get past the fact that having 63 points hung on you by a 7-4 team takes you completely out of the discussion. You had an arse whipping that was historic in its proportion. In its 120 year history, Alabama has never given up close to that many points.

You want to treat the South Carolina loss like just another loss. Every knowledgable fan outside of the Tennessee fan base knows you can't do that.

Your best wins are against 2 teams that lost 4 games. You have 0 wins against teams in the Top 15 while UT us 2-1 against top 15 teams.

What is the significance of top 15? Rankings go to 25

None of the reasons they give is the criteria for ranking. It doesn’t matter if you have a player injured that’s not part of the criteria losing by certain amount of points is the criteria either. Playoff committee is a scam. They’ll never get anybody else in the playoffs. They always find a way to get Alabama, Ohio State and whoever else they decide in the playoffs. Nicely in Tennessee should be in the playoffs but we should be ahead of Alabama. If head to head isn’t the number one criteria. Why even play the damn games.

There are 12 games to compare, not just one.

The better teams are ranked at the top. But let’s take a look at the CFP Top15.

Bama wins against #20 and #25 ranked teams.
UT wins against #6 and #14 ranked teams. I say we have more quality wins.

You do, but the losses were so much worse.

Alabama isn't scared of some rain.

They are scared of 100 pound women though.

#13FSU is ranked ahead of #14LSU
#15Oregon State ahead of #16Oregon
#16Oregon ahead of #17 UCLA
#6 Bama ahead of #7 UT

The higher ranking teams won the head to head on the field. All these teams ahve the same exact records. Why did it change for the Bama and UT ranking?

amazing how the other teams that are ranked side by side with same record are our ahead due to head to head.

Perhaps it’s just a coincidence, and other factors played a role in the ranks.

You know what it is. You just don’t want to say it. We both know Bama been getting preferential treatment for last 15 years from the refs and the media. It’s nothing new.

They clearly are using the eye test when comparing Bama and UT at this point in the season.

Y'all need to get this "criteria" stuff out of y'all's heads. Its much more subjective than you clearly seem to think that it is.

The criteria is supposed to be what’s used to pick teams. Of the criteria isn’t used then why is it even posted on the CFP website as the guidelines they follow?

A record setting loss to SC, preceded by a blowout loss to uga, is what it is. Hooker is out too.

FSU didn’t get skulldrug in any of their losses, didn’t have a really bad loss. LSU has a bad loss at a bad time. So it’s easy to put FSU ahead.

Oregon State and Oregon both got skulldrug once. All things being equal, head to head at the end of the season makes sense.

Then we come to the sad case of the stinking Vols. Who got ran out of the stadium by then 6-4 South Carolina. Who btw got dragged on their own field by Georgia and the week prior ran out of the swamp by then 5-4 Florida.

So you’ve got two very bad losses. The committee doesn’t think you’re better, the coaches don’t, and the writers don’t.

The coaches btw think Penn State with two pretty bad losses is better than you too.

Before a playoff everyone bitch about a playoff and about settling it on the field. Well it was settled on the field. Bama lost to a LSU team that UT beat by 4 TD’s on the road. The losses are bad no doubt. But UT still has more quality wins, better strength of schedule and is 2-0 against common teams while bama is 1-1. Head to Head should matter more as it was settled on the field.
