When it comes to manufacturing confidence in recruiting on internet message boards Auburn is up there on the same tier as LSU and Aggy. It's all sunshine all the time no matter how bullshite it is. Like even if their contact on the coaching staff says something along the lines of "he enjoyed his visit so we have a shot, but we don't see it shaking out our way" their guys will make some vague insider post about how the visit blew said recruit away and they are in good position for his signature. I honestly do not understand how any pay boards associated with those 3 stay afloat unless it's just that their customer base actually wants to be misled or something. Maybe it plays into all of their victim complexes.

One AU poster seems dead set on AU but it’s Bama or Georgia at this point.

If we do, someone else better will take his place. If you are a wide receiver in the next few classes, you are going to want to play with Julian Sayin.

I hope Alabama never, ever has a coach that does this stuff.

Tuesdays with Gorney: Takeaways from the Elite 11, OT7 Nationals
quote:
Can Julian Sayin be No. 1?
Sayin won the Elite 11. He then drove about 30 miles down the road to OT7 Nationals and was arguably the best player at that event, too. So what’s holding us back from making the Alabama five-star quarterback commit the No. 1 player in the class? Probably nothing but it’s going to be a conversation to be had for the next rankings meeting.
The Carlsbad, Calif., prospect is already No. 4 nationally so Sayin is incredibly well thought of in this recruiting class and while he’s not the most physically gifted or the most athletic quarterback, he might just be the best overall player with a competitive drive that is very high but does not come across as arrogant.
My prediction: Sayin goes to play for the Crimson Tide, doesn’t freak out if he doesn’t get the starting job from Day 1, learns the playbook, earns the trust of coach Nick Saban very quickly and thrives in Tuscaloosa. Over the last week, Sayin proved to be elite.
Is he No. 1? We will determine that as the recruiting calendar goes on.

Tuscaloosa RB Kevin Riley committed to Miami last night.
Looks like Daniel Hill is the guy we are targeting at RB in this class.

Work to do in the classroom is what I’ve seen.

quote:doubt it. why would a WR flip from alabama to auburn, especially when they have a QB like Sayin coming in the same class? This is just the same pathetic nonsense auburn always does.
Are we about to lose Perry Thompson to AU?

They did the same stuff last year when they tried to flip Jahlil Hurley. Thank goodness they weren’t successful. Hopefully they won’t be this time around, either.

I've no idea, but it is not uncommon for kids to want to get away from their home town ties and out from under mom's watch to get a different experience in college.

That's ok...don't hurt to do your school work.

Commit Fit: The best QB fits from the Elite 11
quote:
Julian Sayin, Alabama
Sayin and Bryce Young are different in many ways but they also share some similar traits with the main one being smarter than nearly anyone else on the field along with a quiet competitive drive that’s off the charts. Sayin didn’t come to the Elite 11 to lose - so he made sure he won it. He could’ve gone back to beautiful Carlsbad, Calif., and hung ten but instead drove to Golden West College for the OT7 Nationals and was one of the best players at the whole event. He’s someone coach Nick Saban will trust with the program’s keys early on and Sayin has the smarts and the talent to run the offense incredibly well.

Meridian, Miss. RB Daniel Hill is back at Alabama again today on an unofficial and camp visit. Will work out at multiple positions. He just made an official visit last weekend.

Most of his Junior highlight reel is him at WR.
