The laws are laws. People can have opinions but it’s in black and white.
If I were an Aggie fan I’d be more worried that a “team captain” is behaving like this more than the splitting of hairs regarding .066 BAC and the amount of weed

Really? Oh, I forgot. Texas.
Maybe the law is stupid, but that doesn’t mean you break it and get pissed when you are caught.

The 4th amendment is the law of the land.
I'm not an aggie.

I think our country was founded on the idea that it does mean that.

And many places in Alabama (and the entire South) have turned to shite because they still want to abide by those principles.

I've lived all over the country and you're full of shite. People are moving to the south in droves trying to escape the liberal oppression.
Where do you think it's better?

Damn, you got triggered real fast once your own logic was flipped. I’m not going to hijack this thread because of the insignificant.

Exactly. This will be decided by the blood test. Either he should be kicked off the team or the cop should be fired.

Both sound extreme to be honest. With no injuries or accidents

Can I get the version of this that makes sense?

Would it be extreme if he had killed someone? Is it extreme to fire a cop that's harassing the public? Neither should be tolerated.

Police aren't legal experts. They are blunt instruments of enforcement, trained to pull people into the justice system at the slightest whiff of infraction, and let others sort it out from there. Charges get dropped all the time. It's no reason to fire cops.
If there was a blood test, it will tell the tale.
If there wasn't, then the officer better have some very compelling testimony and/or dash/vest cam recordings clearly showing significant impairment during the field tests, or the prosecutor is going to end up dropping all the charges, or at the very least the marijuana charge will get plead down to a class c misdomeanor of some sort, which will negate the unlawful carry of weapon charge anyway, and that will be the end of it.
Of course, new information could always come out that would alter this assessment one way or the other.

Not condoning or convicting just think its wise to let facts surface before rushing to judgement. Young kids do stupid things, that is nothing new. You just hope its not your team player/s is all.
All true, I’m still kinda laughing though because he was supposed to be repping them at sec days. I can’t help it, it’s funny.

Disagree. He passed the breath test. The cop says he couldn't pass the field sobriety test. The cop is either lying or telling the truth. The blood test should clear it all up.

My good friends daughter was killed at aTm a few years ago by a drunk driver while walking on the sidewalk. aTm fans really should care about DUIs.

A&M fans do care about drunk drivers.
Smith was not a drunk driver.
Try to keep up.
