Another team or two from the ACC will not bump the TV contract with Disney, Inc enough to warrant an invite to any of them. People are also overlooking the contract the ACC has with its' members, you know the thing they all signed.
None of those folks re exactly free agents now or in the future.
When a TV network has a contract with a conference there is a limited number of time slots to broadcast games. The SEC already has an attractive cast of teams. What can Clem, UNC, VT or FSU add to that??

They’ll say that until the B1G starts to shoot for 18/20 teams

Good, now we can go back to arguing about conference scheduling.

Good. Let all these other pissant schools like FSU and Miami float around in their dog shite conferences

USC and UCLA aren't football powers anymore. It would basically be the same if the SEC added Memphis and UAB... and if they both existed way across the country.
USC and UCLA aren't really a big deal.

They don't have to just add value. Additional teams have to add proportionally more value to the regular season take home and the postseason take home.
If the projected take home per team is 100 million for sixteen teams? That 1.6 billion annual revenue has to balloon to over 2.4 billion for 24 teams to just break even.
Is there really 100 million in annual value for each (any) of the proposed expansion teams? Probably Notre Dame but that's it.

Not for the sec, bit the big ten could get a huge boost from southern teams, if they deemed non aau schools desirable

If FSU, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Miami all join the B1G Ten then that conference becomes a national conference and will have the SEC surrounded. The B1G will have a presence in the Deep South and programs like Ohio St., USC, Michigan, Nebraska, etc. will be recruiting our kids. IMO the SEC is making a mistake by not at least adding Clemson and Florida St. both of which are national brands.

I think our 16 could handle their 24

Even in the Los Angeles market USC / UCLA aren’t a big deal. It is a Dodgers / Lakers town.

It's weird how people act like the SEC has to react to the Big 10 adding USC/UCLA when they were the ones reacting to us making (much better) additions a year ago. 7 of top 10 most valuable programs (5 excluding OU and Texas) are SEC. Hell, 6 of the top 12 are SEC charter members.
This was definitely the Big 10 reacting desperately to the SEC getting Texas and Oklahoma. If the SEC adds anyone right now its Ohio State and Michigan and creates their own playoff.
I'll say it again, Florida State and Clemson bring nothing to the table to increase market value of the league. North Carolina and Virginia some, but we are fine as is.

Don't worry, if they become available in the future then we'll talk to the ones that we want. However, nobody can figure out a way out of that pesky GoR so we will stay at 16 until at least 2036.

Sources that validate what SEC fans want to hear
So we believe them

While there may be a few remaining schools outside Notre Dame that could make sense for the SEC (Florida State, North Carolina), the preference of conference presidents is to keep college football intact moving forward, an industry source said.
What's missing here?
Nothing.

But the B10 @ 24 will be fine for the SEC to stop at 16?
Yeah, right!
Yeah, right!

& you see OSU & Mich. swapping the B10 for the SEC?

Which Southern teams would you be talking about being deem desirable for the B1G?

16 is nice. I don’t believe it lasts though. 20 programs as an end game unfortunately makes too much sense. That ACC GoR won’t hold back the storm forever.
