I somehow missed that Joe Burrow, in his intro, said he went to "Athens High School" ...

That has to be disappointing to the LSU faithful. I can see doing that in the random Sunday Night in the NFL game, but you do that for your intro in the Super Bowl? Oof.
Stafford?
"Georgia."
Stafford?
"Georgia."

He doesn’t give a shite about Louisiana.

Man I have never seen a reverse melt like this, lol

He’s been saying Athens High School on the NBC broadcast version all season.

At least he didn't say "THE Ohio State University."

I didn't know that. Still seems odd to me, although I know he loves LSU and loved playing for the Tigers.

I’ll say it again - don’t pretend like LSU was in the super bowl then act like we are crazy for making fun of your fanbase when the Bengals lose.

Still love the kid and will always be thankful he gave us two great seasons as an LSU Tiger.

Aggie all you can do is pretend to play for Championships. You haven’t played for one since 1939. Kindly STFU

Truth. Still can't believe I saw him back on the field after he took that shot to the knee. Tough, tough player.

Ironically, Rams great Phillip Rivers also graduated from Athens HS... (Alabama)

The school named a stadium after him and he does a ton of volunteer work and donations for him. He’s a good guy and a great representative of LSU and the conference. Proud of Stafford too. Being stuck in Detroit was like a prison sentence. Worse than the Bengals.

Okay, I get that. Also, everybody knows he was a star at LSU, but most probably don't know about Athens High School (including myself) until he mentioned it.

Why does he continue to wear an LSU wristband every game? Louisianimals hoodies? Speak highly of Louisiana and LSU? You suck the oxygen out of life, and as I’ve said many times before “Your dad hates you!”

Good grief, the casual fan knows where Burrow went. They know him and Chase were teammates. That’s been a nice storyline for quite some time.
I couldn’t care less if he said Athens HS. I’m proud to have him as an ambassador for LSU, and Athens should be proud he’s an ambassador for them. He leveraged his popularity into attention for a depressed area of Ohio (that most on here didn’t know much about), and helped garner donations for some hungry folks. He can say he’s from Buzzard Breath, WY and I wouldn’t care. The NFL needs more people like him.
