What about Matt Campbell? Hot name a few years back but stayed at Iowa State. He recently signed a contract extension but the Big 12 is falling apart.

Thats why a Jeff Traylor or Chadwell type are the best and most realistic coaches. Traylor is also known as a top recruiter, too.

Rumor is he wants a high up Texas job, but we could probably do worse.

Traylor may be the only coach on that staff that was universally loved. He left to advance his career. I think that would be a hire that the whole state could get behind.

He has totally fallen since Brock Purdy left him. He had Iowa State pretty highly ranked at one point, now he's basically irrelevant again.

He was basically made by his QB.

Wazzu's coach Jake Dickert is one to watch.

He took over a shitty situation in the middle of the 2021 season when their coach got fired and held them together and pulled them to a bowl game. He went 7-6 last year and is currently 4-0 and #13 in the country (he’s also doing it with 2 new coordinators).

Not to mention he's on a sinking ship in in the Pac-2 and staring down the prospect of being in the Mountain West.

Dickert is an extremely high level coach. The Pac 12 is actually flooded with them right now.

Bert only failed here due to his own devices. Morris was just a bad hire period.

Our program had nothing to do with their failures.

Would it be considered obtuse, to believe that "Our Program" was only able to hire such coaches for a reason?

Urbs, wasn't knocking down that door man. Watch our new search unfold and get back to me...

I see STL came in here and relegated everybody back to needing anti depressants again.

If the University of Mississippi can hire a coach that can get them to 7-8 wins a year then the University of Arkansas should be able to also.

I don't care what STL or anybody else says.

You can bitch about recruiting but guess what, Dave and Muss seem to have no problem.

Mississippi has Miss St, Bama, and LSU beating down recruits doors in their state but they find a way.

We just don't like holding people accountable. Including Hunter Yuracheck when he makes the next hire.

Missouri fans are praying we will take Drink off their hands

He is probably the only guy that if we hire I will drop season tickets. Do not want

Bert was a good hire on paper. Chad was hired by a search committee with no AD in place. There was other interest but left it up to the GOBN.

Gundy has had interest on more than one occasion back when he was still winning games. We could have hired Tubberville instead of the Murray State Mafia. There are others I’ve forgotten.

Point is I’m not expecting us to hire Saban or Kirby….but we still have a desirably job, good fan support and reasonable expectations.

Bert didn't run the show in Madison.

Supposedly it was Barry Alvarez and Paul Chryst.

Arkansas could have hired Butch Davis had they fired Nutt after the 2005 season.

Drunk is another 6-6 7-5 coach.

That's fine for Missouri but not us.

You might want to take a peek at our SEC record since we joined.

So losing to the Citadel, SMU, Memphis, Toledo and Liberty is who Arkansas really is?

Toledo?

We finished 8-5 that year. In fact that was Dan's first season.

Sam isn't going 8-5 this year with this shite OL

Everyone loves the hot name having a good year or few years at a program. What about a guy who was one of these, FAILED, then came back to have a respectable record at the same school or the next stop?

Is it impossible to consider a coach who failed, learned from his failures and rebuilt his career or are you only to consider coaches who have never faced adversity and failure who are just as like to fold under the pressure as they are to overcome and make a comeback after a bad season or two?
