Yep. With a lot of other coaches we would have easily missed the tourney but he rallied the troops and got them playing well together.

Rallied the troops my arse.

Aidoo finally got healthy and Cal figured out Z was arse. Sadly Cal had to play Brazile with 4 fouls because of his recruiting failures.

So much dumb shite by the players in the last two minutes and in OT.
Hopefully he recruits high level basketball IQ players for next season.

This was a winnable game but the players and the coach absolutely had a meltdown and shite the game away.

But WPS, we made it to the sweet 16

Everybody take their moral victory lap because we'll be better next year.

He still had to keep the locker room together after our start. Could have easily let go of the rope even with guys coming back from injuries.

But yes we shat the bed last night and Cal’s deficiencies were on full display.

Feel better? Jeeze.

End of the day we probably get blown out by Florida anyway.

Making the sweet 16 and Elite 8 is basically the same thing. Bad loss but I felt just as bad in attendance getting handled by Baylor and was nearly as bad getting smoked by UCONN/Duke the other years.

Really only matters who wins. Couldn’t even tell you who was in the final four 3-4 years ago.

Getting smoked by clearly better teams like Muss did in his three tourney losses is one thing, but losing after being the better team for 90% of the game leaves a bad taste.

Disagree on it only mattering who wins it all. Final Four appearances are important and a measuring stick for programs.

Fair on final fours but elite 8s, point stands.

And debatable last night. Lost to a 3 seed that played horribly most of the game.

Them kicking our asses on the boards and being down that much should indicate that.

People forget the story of the first half and as bad as blowing that kind of lead was, the mean kind of played out over 45 minutes.

It is what it is. Address the holes and build a better team. I still think the momentum is huge and drastically different than not making the tourney or being popped in the first round.

Beating St John’s should still be recognized.

Completely agree. For better or for worse, I've seen the Razorback name thrown around over the last couple of weeks more than it has in a long time.

I'd mentioned it in a different thread, but regardless of how far Cal ultimately takes us, he's setting up a heck of a foundation for the program for when he presumably retires within the next 5 years. The Arkansas basketball brand is exploding with all the attention from NBA players, the prime-time games on Thanksgiving, etc. We'll have a shite-ton of money at our disposal and will be one of the top jobs in the country when we do go looking for our next coach.

So if you hate Cal's coaching, just hang in there for another 3 or 4 years

I am so fricking excited for next year.

When's the last time this program was a legit national title contender? '95?

Who’s coming back. If Wagner, Richmond and Knox come back I’ll look forward to next season more than I have any season in a while. They were really coming on and all play with a lot of confidence. They represent the uniform well and I don’t say that about everyone.

Don’t think Wagner will be back with Acuff coming in. I’d love to have both but I assume Cal has promised Acuff PG#1 from day one and DJ transfers.

Boogie going pro right?

I bet Wagner stays. He followed Cal. Need more than 1 PG

I hope DJ stays just not sure he’ll agree to be the backup point guard again.

Unless Acuff is the best Arkansas freshman point guard I’ve ever seen, I would not react positively to this.

I hope you guys are wrong with how this plays out. I’ll be done pretty quick if we run off a very good junior point guard to bring in another boogie fland.
