That's just to enter the portal. But I've read that portal recruitments are like a speed run. There's a lot less bullshite and fluffing than with high school recruits. It's guys that have been through the recruitment process, and NIL is a huge factor. So less wine and dine, and more straight to business.

Definitely giving me the vibe that we may not get any additional "help" from the portal to cover down on all our losses to the portal and draft.

Not a great feeling because I think we're perilously short bodies in the front court and really could use a more sure-thing producer at point guard.

Interesting. I wonder what happened. They must have got someone better.

That's a roster full of highly paid guys that will be tough to manage from a PT standpoint.

It starts to get hard after 10 players. And now with NIL, guys don't want to be buried and not get any pt. Because playing time is how they'll get a larger deal for the next season. I think you'll see at least a few situations similar to Kansas last season. You can stack up on talent, but the pieces have to fit. You never know how chemistry will be. And boosters are gonna be pretty pissed when they drop $10+ million on a 1st round exit 7 seed.

I hope we go after Mwani Wilkinson hard.

That dude is crazy athletic and Nate Oats spoke highly of him when he played at LSU.

Is it possible Oats is leaving a spot open in case Philon comes back?

Isn't he one of those guys entering the portal with no eligibility remaining?

I don't know. I just saw his name pop up but it's possible.

Stephen Payne is another guy I would look at. Explosive Rim Running Big!

Things have gotten out of hand if players like Aberdeen are commanding 2 million a year. I don’t see how this is sustainable.

Kentucky is loaded. Will probably be preseason pick to win the league. Gonna be hard keeping all those guys satisfied and on the same page though

It's not. But right now multi-millionaires and billionaires have a shiny new toy to play with. Some will eventually get bored, some will get mad that their money hasn't paid off and some will probably swing their dicks around and use their influence to over the athletic departments (us pre-Saban). Some will unfortunately be successful.

But there's no way this can continue for long without destroying the sport. A few schools have blown up the market, and now anyone decent is expecting unrealistic money.
