Tuitele, Metchie, Billingsley, and Carter

I think Bama will take a commit from Tuitele now if he's ready to commit.

I think the staff may prefer Stevenson over Carter, but they might not feel confident enough about getting Stevenson to risk losing out on Carter if he's ready to commit and shut it down.

I think Bama wants a 6'3" plus receiver. If Milton Wright wants in now, I think they might take him over Billingsley. Otherwise, I could see Bama maybe taking a commit from Billingsley now.

They might like Metchie's abilities on both sides of the ball enough to take him now. Metchie might not be in a huge rush since he seems to like Bama and Penn State both pretty well, unless he fears he could lose a spot at both by waiting.

The thing is this though: Any guy we take now who I didn't mark with an all-caps HUDL, knocks out the ability to take one I did mark.

Insiders' remarks and tweets from recruits like Thibodeaux and Stevenson as well as Bama coaches has me a bit optimistic that we could even get a few big commits this week. Maybe Like Webb, Thibs or Stevenson.

That is the question right now, how confident do they feel about what we perceive (the caveat being we don't know their board) our primary targets. We talk about the board overall, I sometimes wonder if we overlook that guys are even on the board and the first to commit gets the spot. As much as I like Stevenson, I would definitely take Carter if he was ready to go cause I'd rather have one than lose both. The same with Wright vs. Billingsley. Who do you think loses their spot if they take Metchie?

quote:

If Billingsley commits, you can throw him onto your list. Of the people you didn't name they are all the Alabama recruits and Turnage. After Eboigbe committed out of nowhere I almost posted a list of our final 12 commits where it was just guys you wouldn't expect like Devontae Dobbs and Jowon Briggs. People we are in on but you never hear about.

Since I posted this both Dobbs and Briggs have committed elsewhere .

I would be ok if Webb, Tuitele, Thibs, and Stevenson commit this week. I must say my limited faith of insiders and Bama media is near zero after the last few big recruitment weekends.

Getting blind-sided by commits like Bowles, Cheney and Eboigbe, along with how fast Bama moved with some recruitments like Harris and Alfano doesn't help me feel very confident at all in my attempts to guesstimate Bama's board or who our next commits will be.

I just did a class calculator that is probably inflated but not to far out of the realm it had 1 comitted prospect switching, 26 players, no tight end, 1 3 star kicker, 16 4 stars and 9 5 star players!! Wow what big eyes I have. But the 9 5 stars I picked, there is not 1 who for sure we will not get, but I am sure we will not get all of them, or am I?

The score was around 330-ish, right?

Boz seemed like he was semi connected, but he disappears for long stretches. Everyone else here who claims to be in insider likely just has a BOL membership.

Like you said, Boz appears to be legit semi-connected. Footballfan1234 seems to get a little info from 1 or 2 semi- connected people. Other than those two, I can't think of any posters portraying themselves as being insiders at all. BOL does have a few insider posters whose track record shows that they are legit connected or semi-connected.

But with recruiting, any "inside" information can become "wrong" very quickly. Even Saban gets mislead and blindsided by recruits. It's silly when people "attack" posters who share some inside info as being "frauds" when the unexpected happens and makes them turn out to be "wrong."

Probably referring to any poster that starts off his posts with "i heard" instead of "i just read".

That's the beauty of this early Dec signing period. You know there are several 5 star big dogs that will hold out till Feb like Sopsher. So the Evil Empire takes their best shot at their next highest targets for December and tells them to get on board or lose your spot. The day after Dec signing day, you evaluate who you have and who you didn't get and you roll up your sleeves and try and shore up any weak spots. And who does that better than Lord Saban? You can start seriously trying to close the deal with your biggest targets and/or flip someone else's big targets.

The funny part to me about all this is when I was referring to "insiders", I wasn't talking about anyone who post here or BOL for that matter.

Maybe so. But some posters may use "I heard," "I saw" and "I read" without implying that it's from an inside source. If they don't post a link or indicate a source, then it's appropriate to ask them who or what their source is.

BIG difference in"i saw" or "i read" compared to "i heard" or "I'm hearing". "I'm hearing" implies conversationS (plural). "I'm hearing" is the pretendsider go to phrase.

I’m hearing that people complain about other posters too much. Now you people have me joining in on the complaining.

Yeah, I've seen that kind of pretendsider posting. When I see posts from a BOL insider who's legit connected with a track record that's proved it, I'm fine with "I'm hearing" from him. Otherwise, I'm skeptical of any "I'm hearing" info. On BOL, one or more true insiders will typically chime in at some point and either validate what an "I'm hearing" post says or dispute it. It's hard to pull off a pretendsider ploy with legit insiders there.

Elite DB Tyrique Stevenson talks return to Bama (BamaOnLine-VIP)

4-star CB Tyrique Stevenson 6-1/190 FL hudl

Stevenson and his HS coach came for the Fiday cookout event and stayed through Satrday evening. It was his first return trip to UA this year. He got quality time with commits and players, including Jerry Jeudy and Xavier Williams from south FL, and with his main recruiters Pannunzio and Scott, as well as Saban.

Stevenson said Saban gave him one of the best grades he's ever given a HS CB. “Bama’s always been a top choice for me because of the school, the coaches and what they do at my position. They're one of the teams coming at me hardest." Does Bama have a good chance to land another top player from south FL? “Yes sir.”
