Was'nt Hurts sacked 7 times against the Rams? and they still won the game.

When you think about it, Milroe perfectly "fits" the mold of the typical Steelers QB, outside of Bradshaw and Big Ben. Mostly they've had guys like Jim Miller, Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, Kordell "Slash" Stewart, Charlie Batch and Justin Fields.

JM would just be a continuation of that long tradition.

Yep, but I'd argue a big part of that was Hurt's injuring his knee, and his mobility being cut down by at least 50%.

I don't believe this. This is coming from someone close to Milroe or Milroe himself. Milroe's not going to be drafted in the first round. I will be surprised if he goes in the second round. I think he's a 4th or 5th round project. He can't read a defense at all. He is not an accurate passer, he has awful footwork, he has good straight-line speed but he's not quick or explosive, he's not hard to tackle. Give me a break, LOLOLOLOL!

Kiper does not have Milroe in his projected first round; Two Bama Players projected.

Everything is early. Gotta wait until after combine and pro day to get better reading of the situation

Right. That’s where all of these insane draft predictions are coming from.
They are expecting Milroe to turn out incredible combine numbers. He’s 6’3” 230 and runs 4.25 40…yeah sure..

I’m just so thrilled he is gone. I don’t wish him any ill will and don’t want to see him embarrassed by showing up and sliding, but I’m really really happy he is leaving.

Same here. Hope he figures it out in the NFL, but it would take a miracle imo. I thought the same about Hurts for different reasons, mainly being a successful enough passer for the pro's, but he's proven everyone wrong in that regard. Milroe's issues aren't easily fixable, mainly his love affair with fumbling the ball away.

But yeah, there's a reason it was a huge celebration on this board when Milroe's announcement to go pro came in. I was hoping it would be considered an Alabama Sports Board holiday going forward.

NFL draft person said only 2 Bams go in first and neither was Milroe. Booker and our LB.

First one I have seen without him going in first which I think is more realistic based on the position he plays. He has first round measurables on how he will grade out at the combine but based on his play on the field he is not. I think when they do one on one film study they will figure out why he struggled. Of course we could blame it on the OL and Sheridan for not calling the right play to suit his strong suit.

Seems like I read something similar to that earlier today.

It’s just insane how so many scouts and coaches get mesmerized by “measurable” with these QB prospects and almost ignore altogether what they did (or didn’t do) in college.

Here’s the BIG red flag for JM. He has apparently put in a TON of film study and work on fundamentals over the last couple of years, and virtually NONE of that work has translated to be able to play the position effectively from a passing game standpoint. The QB position is so much more of a mental than a physical position, and having a cannon arm and 4.4 speed is only about 25 percent of the equation. He has little in the way of football instincts.

From a sheer draftable viewpoint, Milroe is a late round or free agent guy IMO. If I’m in charge of a draft room that’s where we take him, if at all. But no doubt a number of teams will have a 2nd round or possibly higher grade on him. Good luck.
