So given the new offensive coordinator, could this year's offense be better than last year's? Not better potential wise, but in actuality.

I actually believe it is possible. You won’t see our QB having to audible 95% of the time and getting the snap just before the play clock expires. Whether it be Milroe, Simpson, or Buchner at the helm, QB position won’t be asked to do too much, but will be asked first and foremost to protect the damn ball!

Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

Lmao I don’t think it works that way; the guy had 3 turnovers in one game and almost threw a second INT on a forced pass to the end zone for a grand total of 4 TOs in the game. Him turning the ball over in that game was no anomaly. That said, I am excited to see what he brings to the table this year and hope he has figured it out as a passer.

I mean it kind of does. Most people assume he is still the guy who had 3 turnovers? So that’s working off of an assumption. I have a what if, not far from the same thing. Let’s just see what he does.

Given time to grow and mature in the right environment, there is always a chance that he will shine.

Warren Moon was a 49% passer with 19 TDs to 17 INTs in college, and he became an NFL HoFer.

And, then there is Hines Ward who played RB, QB, and WR for UGA and finished 2nd only to Herschel Walker in all-purpose yards, all while missing an ACL since childhood.

I have no idea how much development he has had this offseason, but there is always a chance for greatness given his overall skillset. If its not to be at QB, I hope he still finds the field like Ward did, as he has near limitless potential as a playmaker.

I believe Rees was in the booth at Notre Dame.

He was. Remember that he was yelling at the ND quarterback on the phone.

Reichard missed one chip shot field goal and another makeable one. We won and that is all that matters.

Y'all need to check the box scores on this stuff. His two FG misses that game were 44 and 46 yards. Both are far from chip shot and the average college success rate for a 45 yard FG is right at 50%; so neither were a guarantee.

Yeah they were easy to miss. He wasn’t missing stuff like that at that point but still. Lots of factors played into us being that close to losing. Turnovers and missing kicks.

A good OC can work with Milroe. BoB was not a good college OC. He wasn't able to adapt to his personnel and ran a fairly bland system that required great execution. Worked good with an all time great QB, but not with Milroe.

Rees has to show he can work with Milroe. I think he can. I have concerns, but I think the WRs paired with the QB is an issue. The WRs have got to be much, much better.

QBs improve after another year of seasoning, WRs are usually what they are.

The 47 yard miss was right after the QB got sacked for a 12 yard loss on 3rd down. Took it from the 17 back to the 29 and Reichard just missed it left.

But that’s a freshman mistake that should be easily cleaned up.

That's a pretty reasonable take on the situation. Prepare to be told why you're stupid and wrong.

Who do we have on staff that makes you think we can get him to this ceiling you speak of?

A) Rees isn’t going to force him to run a Bryce Young spread passing offense. I anticipate our offense looks a lot like what he did with mobile QBs at ND and some of what LSU did last year with a limited passer in Jaden Daniels.
B) Our OL is going to be far improved from last year and our RB room healthy whereas last year both our primary ball carriers were coming off injuries and Gibbs was dinged from the Arkansas game on. If a DC has to respect the gun game it will open up passing lanes right behind the LBs relative to how we were defended last year.
C) an extra year of reps to prepare as a starter.

Those are the reasons to believe an improvement is possible. We will know whether it was enough by the time we are done against Texas.

I don't understand why some people have just completely made up their mind regarding Milroe. Is it because you hope to say "I told you so" later? What is the point to being so negative and absolute when you(not you tide06) really don't know how things will turn out?

I can't understate how frustrated I'd get that we'd still have the ball in the center's hands with 3-5 sec to go on play clock

One of the biggest advantages on offense, and specifically the OL, is you know when the ball will be snapped. This diminishes the closer you get to 0

and then when we had to run hurry up or 2 minute because it was at the end of the game and we needed a score, our offense usually drove it right down the field with efficiency. Absolutely maddening.

I know it is sorta different... but Tua had three picks against GB last year. People have bad games. It happens
