Year 1 under Vaughn was a success.

We're not going to get our pick of anybody from the portal. We'll lose some top players like last year and try to get some HS guys and diamond in the rough portal guys. And repeat in 2025 and on.

Vaughn is a good recruiter and players coach. He will get some solid talent out of the portal.
He honestly got a lot out of this year’s team considering the pitching injuries. But you never want to fall flat on your face at this time of year. Still want to know what the hell happened the last three weeks to look so lethargic.

I want to agree 100% with your assessment. And might after a few days. I know just making the NCAAT is an improvement (heck, making the SECT is an improvement) over years past, just sucks to seemingly always be a couple of years away.
But Oats did it with basketball and Vaughn is our best shot with baseball. So we'll see.

Given how last season ended up, and the circumstances surrounding last year's head coach getting canned, this season has been an overwhelming success. Hard to view it any other way.

Successful, yes. But certainly not overwhelmingly. Just a couple of weeks ago we were looking at maybe hosting a regional.
Now we are 2 and Q when (I believe) we were favorites both games. Just fell apart at the end of the season.

Really a success? Losing record in conference. Lose series to AU and barely get in SECT. Eliminated immediately then 0-2 in regional and blanked by friggin Stetson. This program sucks and has been dead for years.

We made a regional in year 1 under a new coach.
That was our ceiling with this squad.
Yes, it was a success.
And we’ve made a regional what, 3 out of the last 4 years? And were projected to make a regional during the COVID year.
I wouldn’t say we’ve been dead for years.
