The Steelers are not re-signing Najee. He's going to be an unrestricted free agent.

Not surprising. It also seems that he is running in glue when I watch him. Not sure if he lost his quickness when he went to the NFL or if the quality of players in the NFL is just that much better

Yeah Najee is by no means a burner and 1000 yards isn't what it use to be, but he had 4 seasons of a 1000 yards behind a mostly mediocre and at times a completely bum arse line. Hopefully he finds some where to be in a nice two back tandem. He would be a nice complement to McCaffrey in Frisco back home in Cali, but he probably be 3rd back there. Hell. He should do it, those backs will be injuried by week 4.

Steelers completely misused Najee the last few years. They used him like a true 3 yards and a cloud of dust power back. Barely ever used him in the passing game despite the fact that he's great catching passes out of the backfield. Hopefully he ends up somewhere that utilizes his full skillset.

Najee was a complete back his last year at Bama. That’s how he should have been used in the Pro’s. He just lacks top end speed otherwise he is a superb RB. It maybe that Najee slacked off in his training and commitment this past season. Needs to get on the Derrick Henry regimen this off season.
Would be great if he could train with him for a couple of months before the season.

I wouldn't mind the Fins picking up Najee for a song as a change of pace/pass catcher out of the backfield to go along with Achane. But Najee would probably want too much money.

I would like that too, but they have too many good backs and they need DEFENSE.

The Steelers offense in general has been pretty dysfunctional since he's been there. You rarely see them get into rhythm.

Funny, if you ask Steelers fans, the opposite is true. They used him way too often in outside run plays where a quicker back would usually get the reps. More than 50% of his carries were outside the tackles. He simply not fast enough (for the NFL) to be used like that. You're 100% right, they virtually never used him as a passing option. Which is crazy because he absolutely excels in that role. Even crazier is that he would have a game with a couple of catches and look dominant, then he wouldn't see another pass for weeks.
The Steelers have been an absolute mess offensively for several years now. No identity, no consistency and easily doing all of it with a bottom 5 offensive line. The fact that Najee could get four 1,000 yard seasons with the lines he's been running being is amazing.
Even though, I'm a Steeler fan, I've been rooting for him to end up somewhere that actually knows how to use him.

Makes sense he is going to play for Harbaugh.

Julio Jones has never officially retired. Man, I wish he could get 1 more season as a WR3 somewhere...he'd jump several spots on the alltime receiving ranking with just a 3-400 yard season. His last couple of years were painful to watch so it probably won't happen I guess after sitting out a whole season.
