Buying a $50,000 truck for $25,000 wasn’t a red flag to TJ that it just might be stolen???

Yea there is a place in most states called the DMV or something like that where you take your bill of sale and title to get a thing called a license plate when you suspect the purchase is legit. Bypassing that and putting a pl;ate from another vehicle you own might be a tad suspicioys.

That was my thought as well. He had a plate on the truck that was registered to him but the Vin of the registered vehicle didn't match the Vin of the actual truck. How does he explain that? I guess it's possible all of the paperwork he received from the phony sale referenced a Vin that did not match the Vin of the truck. I guess he never thought to compare the Vins before purchasing. Did he use that paperwork to go to DMV and get a license plate? Need more info on this.

I can say this. I’ve bought probably 25 used vehicles and I have never checked the VIN on the paperwork to the vehicle.
