LSU freshman guard Brandon Murray is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to 247Sports.

The Baltimore native averaged 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game during his freshman season.

Murray was heavily recruited by LSU assistant coach Kevin Nickelberry, who is now leaving Baton Rouge to join Georgetown's staff.

Hopefully he is exploring all options and still giving Coach McMahon a chance to pitch him a reason to stay. If he is out and not giving McMahon an opportunity to pitch him, then I'm glad he's gone.

I don't think this is an accusation of McMahon as much as it tells a story of how much these players/recruits loved Wade. They are not from here and are not connected to the school as much as the coach.

They probably loved Wade, or the money he was funneling them, but we need to recruit kids that want to be at LSU because they love of LSU.

Very few kids on this level are drawn to the “love” of a school. The only thing that brings in top 5 recruiting classes is how good the bagmen are with the cash. If you think todays players are choosing schools based on love of game or love of school you are naive.

McMahon helped Morant go from a no-star to high draft pick. Plenty of kids will see that.

Never understood players who follow Coaches, knowing they leave at the mention of more money.
