Pathetic that this is what college sports have become. Very sad

Why would I want to do that? Frankly I have no desire to contribute to any college kids Charger Scat Pack fund.

I think this sentiment is going to be very common moving forward.

I love college sports and I still watch but I would never ever give money to a college.
Donating money doesn’t guarantee anything accept someone else walking around with my money. Prices are sky high on everything and you want me to donate so a kid can come to your school. The Price of winning. Not for me.

That is the typical fan response that wants results for free. If every LSU fan that goes to a football game (100,000 fans) would give $10 per game for 6 home games that is $6 million a year which is about 1/3 of what LSU needs to raise for annual NIL. This wouldn't be hard. Go to $10 a month per fan, that is $12m which would change the way LSU goes to the NIL market. If you sit around and wait on the "heavy hitters" to write a check every year, you are rolling the dice on NIL.

This is encouraging the system to go higher and higher. Schools will keep jacking up fees to top the other. I'm not paying to "buy" players. They'll need to fix this model.

Exactly. Case in point....remember when Netflix was $10 and Youtube TV was $50? What are those costs now? Socal77 is right....even if this became the norm, do we really think athletic depts all around would stop there? If you do, I have a skyhook I'd like to sell ya.

Seems like every commercial on nowadays is someone begging for money. Try $19/mth...that seems to be the sweet spot.

And, suckers, if you don't pony up the same amount next year, they'll be running to whatever portal will have them.
Meanwhile, that's 48K that your children will not have to pay their way through college.

Do those people get a reduction on their season tickets prices or will you also raise season tickets prices. Sure, give me a $1200 reduction on my season tickets and I'll pay $100 a month year round for NIL.

Let's get a damn salary cap on NIL. This is becoming ridiculous

It’s a new game that fans aren’t wanting to play. Without restrictions it’ll continue to draw less interest.

Shouldn't we be more worried about tuition for regular students. Why should we have to pay into college athletics.

Shameful.

How about starting to cut coaching salaries to make it up? You think if the highest paid coach was making $3 million that they'd give it up to go sell insurance?

Well, here is college football today. These comments are going to become more frequent, not less, as the price of great players goes up. Deal with it folks. The folks that wanted change were told to shut up and that's fine. Just be prepared for the day when YOUR AD stands in front of you with the same request.
