re: I think we’ll be fine at the defensive tackle spot this year

Unfortunately elite teams in the last decade have had elite DT’s it’s kinda important!...
NUSS will be better than Daniels next year.(passing game wise)
Only if the receiving corps outperforms last year which is a stretch right now!!!!!!...
CMM isn’t going anywheres.

Probably not just like the basketball team. We are better than last year but that isn't saying much. Extremely doubtful that McMahon has any significant success at LSU.
He is a decent coach but we need a very good coach....
re: How would you grade Brian Kelly’s tenure so far?
Posted by dljtigers on 11/26/23 at 12:59 am
c+ for what he gets paid the defense should never have been THIS BAD THIS LONG this year....
re: Kelly - I think the defensive tackle position will be the area we move aggressively
Posted by dljtigers on 11/21/23 at 1:50 pm
We need DL, linebackers and DB pretty much everything but the edge....
I don’t disagree.
Consider where we’d be without all of the injuries.
Excuses, every team has injuries. Imagine where we would be if we recruited better last year and utilized the portal better and coached up the players last spring and summer....
I don’t think CBK is the type to react to single instances of failure.
Single instances or multiple games. The defense has been horrible. Results are ALL that matters. He better react to the multiple failures or we will continue to be 3rd or 4th in the west. Good chance next ye...

re: Are the best athletes on the field?

Poor tackling technique in the 5th game of the season is a coaching problem when it is this systemic.
We have a motivation and technique problem, both of those are on the coaches.
Hopefully, we figure it out but certainly it is easy to see everyone's frustration with the outcome on defense. H...
re: Tell me why Brian Kelly isn't getting any credit?

Stepping in the water a little early. Lot of Football to be played and the offense looked good against 2 Mississippi schools. Lets see how Bama and Florida game go. Plus when your defense is this bad the offense has the green light to go all out no matter the result.
Like what I see from t...
re: Did that last pass of the game hit Hiltons hands?
Yes, not why they lost, but that ball could’ve 100% been caught
true, probably had 20 plays in the game that if they were made we would have won the game. But, regardless we lost because we don't have a defense that can get a stop when we need it!!!!!!!!!...

re: The Disrespect for Daniels
Posted by dljtigers on 9/24/23 at 12:00 pm
First half he looked like he was in the bottom 3 of the conference so I could see some criticism. Second half he was amazing, results matter in almost every job. With our current defense we need second half Daniels if we want to win the west....
re: Go back and look how JD5 moved in the pocket yesterday
Posted by dljtigers on 9/17/23 at 6:59 pm
He followed the game plan well. Go back and look at the early drives--he took the open man and short passes didn't try to overdue anything. Later, as the defense started to play up he went over the top with an accurate deep ball.
Only question is MS perhaps very bad on defense or the scheme the...
re: Watch it Again. Root Causes were Defensive scheme and Dropped Balls
Posted by dljtigers on 9/8/23 at 8:43 pm
Sorry inability to run the ball is a huge reason we lost. Couldn’t punch it in on the goal line early and failure to convert a 4th down. Coaches quickly decided we couldn’t run the ball and offense became even more predictable hi that’s possible....
re: We go to Tuscaloosa November 4 w/ record at 7-1, #4 in the nation. Book it.
Posted by dljtigers on 9/5/23 at 10:37 pm
Just don’t see it. OL couldn’t open up running lanes and both lines looked spent in second half. Don’t think we have the depth yet to win multiple games in a row. It’s possible but improbable to me....
