You guys are trying to win the pre season natty already? It's always a toss up between LSU, UT, and Auburn. Its a long off season. Good luck to you!!...

We win a close game. They haven't been in very many and we've been in a lot of them....

re: Nick Dunlap - first amateur to win a PGA tour event in 33 years

When he won the US Jr Amatuer I asked him if he was getting a lot more calls from other schools, and more importantly was he still committed to Bama? He said his phone was ringing constantly but "I'm absolutely keeping my commitment to Bama". ...

I've played with Nick a lot. He was a member of our club (Canebrake) all thru highschool. He still plays with us on occasion. He's the best player I've ever seen. ...
Bama is also a golf school

Nick Dunlap - amateur from Alabama in 1st place 4 strokes ahead of Justin Thomas (another Bana grad) going into Sunday. If he wins tomorrow it will be the first time an amateur won a PGA even since Mickleson did it 33 years ago...
re: Kane Wommack defensive stats. Is he good?

2018 Indiana (before he took over): 81st in scoring defense, 97th in yards per play
2019 (first year as DC): 45th in scoring defense, 45th in yards/play
2020 (second year): 19th in scoring defense, 52nd in yards/play
2020 South Alabama (before he took over): 53rd in scoring defense, 104th in ya...
He has no charisma. Lets see how that works with recruiting
Saban was the GOAT in recruiting and he has no charisma (at least in comparison to Bear Bryant). I was actually super encouraged listening to DeBoer's presser today. He seems like a touch-feely version of Saban. ...
re: Would Bama be satisfied if Deboer matches Ryan Day's record??
Posted by bama1959 on 1/13/24 at 9:12 pm
We should expect to be in contention for a Natty every year. But maybe first year or 2 to build his culture so a little wiggle room. Having said that he needs to be in PO at least 3 of 5 years and in the Natty final at least once maybe twice. ...
re: Deboer will be the 3rd or 4th best coach in the SEC
Only coach in the SEC I’d trade him for is Kirby
I might add Sark to that list but he just beat Sark with lesser talent so maybe not. ...
re: Realistic record prediction for Bama now that they got their coach. 9-3. What say you?
Posted by bama1959 on 1/12/24 at 3:57 pm
He turned a 4-8 Husky program into an 11-2 team in 1 year. The sky is the limit with our talent. Why not a 15-0 NC?...

He got to the Natty beating Texas and Oregon twice. And thats with finishing #30 in recruiting. Imagine what he'll do with all the talent on our team....
re: The Dynasty part III begins now

It's part IV. Don't forget Wallace Wade. It all began with him....
re: I’ve mentally accepted Lanning might go but seems like tide fans are split 50/50 on him.
Posted by bama1959 on 1/10/24 at 7:34 pm
Imho, it's Dabo, Kiffin, then Lanning. But, you know Saban is not leaving the keys to the kingdom to a loser. If it's Lanning then Saban knows he will be great. ...
The 12 team playoff is well timed for them. Get in and win a game and everybody reasonable is happy
I agree. As long as you get in the PO then you will survive, even at Bama for awhile anyway. You're going to have to win a Natty to get a statue though,lol....
re: About the bowl games, Kirby is wrong in saying the 12 team playoff won't fix it....
Posted by bama1959 on 12/31/23 at 7:15 am
#13 will have an argument but nobody outside their fanbase will care. This year it's LSU at 9-3. Who cares?...

re: Sorry Gump morons, Kirby Smart agrees with me
Posted by bama1959 on 12/31/23 at 6:46 am
Kirby is an idiot. Yes, CFB is broken but the fix is in for part he referred to with the 12 team PO. What's left broken is the NIL and the NCAA. The NFL has salary caps but you can pay whatever you want for a CFB player? And I'm not even going to start on the NCAA. ...
