I don't have a problem with NIL, although I think there will eventually be some sort of cap to assure "fairness". The problem is definitely the transfer portal.
There should be penalties to transfer. I'm not suggesting I know what to do, but it's plain as day the courts aren't going to allow the NCAA to limit NIL. So, the one thing the NCAA can control are the rules surrounding transfers. I think a player should be able to transfer freely if their coach leaves. That's fair to me. But transferring at the end of a season just to grab a bag/unlimited free agency isn't sustainable.
Maybe bring back having to sit a year after transferring. Idk, but if there's something that can be done to incentivize a player staying put, it can't happen soon enough. Or players will keep auditioning at certain schools for their opportunity to play at larger schools for bigger NIL deals.

Alabama fans will look more favorably on the portal when Alabama poaches Auburn’s best players after Freeze is fired at the end of next season.

The transfer portal is the problem, not NIL. Player isn't guaranteed playing time? Quit and go somewhere else. Even the NFL has contracts. This is free agency with no limits. Transfer portal is only open occasionally? Not for long - the court system will take care of that.

This fricking woke society makes me want to puke.

Jordan finished elsewhere as did Montana. But I see your point. Players are bigger than teams in the pros because of marketing. College doesn’t have that issue, fans follow teams not players.

The NIL stuff is just a transitional period. Either the schools that can sustain it breakaway or it becomes unsustainable to the sport and calms down.

CBB is very interesting. Surely you are gonna start seeing some programs only recruit impact freshmen and use scholarships they might have used for development player for transfers instead

the only way for NIL to work is to not let the market set the value
no one knows what the players are worth because it's an open bidding war

then learn to troll with some humor & wit instead of lame, weak AF shite like "when Freeze is fired next year." . thats pitiful opry level type shite.. you occasionally have some truly funny shite ( i.e. some of your songs) but this ain't it.

Have said this on several other threads but Josh Pate has been saying these past few weeks that he's being told by numerous coaches that the portal is getting ready "to explode", bringing "total chaos" in the next window.
