The Portal swings both ways, and as the coaching carousel rolls on after Saban's retirement, 30-day windows open, and there is a 30-day window in April after DeBoer has his staff and recruiting rolling and spring training - and after Harbaugh maybe goes to the pros and that window opens as has Arizona's now, etc. So it "giveth and taketh away." Note that Courtney Morgan, DeBoer's "General Manager" for player management, built this year's rosters at Washington and Michigan. In truth, we need to put players on contracts just like the pros so that we all can have some boundaries in this process.

Deboer is a good coach and is going to win some games. The problem is everyone coming in and picking the Bama roster apart. If players keep jumping ship then he is gonna have to start from scratch just about and that gonna set him back 2-3 years.

The new norm is having to flip the roster. In KD’s case, he was going to have to do that anyway to run his system well.
