Lincoln Riley, USC may already be in trouble for playing ineligible player in Week 0.

The Trojans' highest-graded defender, according to Pro Football Focus, was defensive back Christian Roland-Wallace. And he shouldn't have even been playing in the first half. He was ejected in the 2nd half of the last game last season. He should have been suspended for the 1st half of the 1st game.

This is one of the worst rules in college football.

And you may be right. But he was ejected for fighting in 2nd half of the last game. Regardless if it’s a dumb rule or not, Riley still broke the NCAA rules by playing an ineligible player.
Now if NCAA don’t come down hard on USC for this, why should any other team wait to play a player that’s waiting for an eligibility decision?

My thing is, if they are allowed to play ineligible players and ignore suspensions. Then what is stopping everyone else from ignoring the NCAA rules?

There’s no real way to fix this shite. And it’s ruined the best thing we all wait for the for the season of fall. But the last two years were fricking great. I’ll say that much! %

How in the hell were the refs not aware? Shouldn't that also be their responsibility?

The NCAA will just let them sit him first half next week, I'm sure.

But the refs should ABSOLUTELY be aware of any ineligible players and there should be a 15 yard penalty after the play.

I agree, esp now this is making national news. They should make USCw forfeit this game. NCAA can’t nor probably shouldn’t control the money issues, but the basic rules of the game they have complete control over.

Game should be ruled a forfeit, USC takes a loss. That certainly is the case in high school ball when an ineligible player plays.

Meh this is a weird one

People most likely forgot about it due to the transfer. Has this even happened before?

Either way I'd say let them suspend the dude from the next game and no harm, no foul

Good test of how objective the NCAA is. Can they be fair when it comes to one of the pet schools? I seriously doubt it. When does North Carolina get punished for creating fake classes? Maybe after their next title....
