He also said that Jalin Hyatt was a system WR (whatever tf that is)

Uhmmm

17 games, 23 receptions, 373 yards, 0 TDs on a team hungry for a decent WR and still starving evidently.

1st on the team in YPC
2nd longest reception last season
3rd on the team in Yards per game for WRs
Missed 1 game with a hamstring injury and 1 with a concussion

Trivia fact: Would you be surprised to know that only 3 WRs had TD catches for the Giants last season?

Tennessee's offense is OK at outscoring opponents
Then we agree.

That Tennessee's offense is just OK?
Sure.

It feels like your defense of Heupel's offense ended up in a crap reply like "tennessee's offense is OK".
You originally were defending it as something special which didn't need to send high caliber players to the NFL.

As it turns out, it doesn't send players to the NFL because it is just OK.

The next question is so obvious.

If Wright is a gem and Milton a bust, why would the OC only give Wright 9 touches?

Is the problem your QB?
Or your OC?
Or your HC?

First, you strawman the UGA defense which actually was very strong last season. Especially when using the same metrics that I was critically discussing with regards to Heupel's offense. Were you making a valid point? Or failing to even make a strawman anecdote? Second, you haven't presented any evidence that the Heupel offensive mystique is real. I literally gave you the opportunity to defend your stance before this terd reply of yours and you chose to deflect. Do you want to throw in any new deflections or questions? Or actually present why you think the Heupel offense isn't a mirage built up off the backs of the sisters of the poor?

The guy who took a way less talented team and scored 52, the most ever against the greatest coach of all time in Nick Saban…. Yeah he’s not any good. Us Tennessee fans are just delusional. Bring back Jeremy Pruitts offensive genius please. He scored a couple touchdowns on Georgia one year so according to your logic, he’s a better offensive mind. Silly us

So he sucked no worse than the rest of their WRs. Good for him.

I can tell you this. When you produce so poorly your first year in the league, the chances you actually become a good WR are not great.

2018 Jerry Jeudy Alabama [25]
2019 Ja'Marr Chase LSU [26]
2020 DeVonta Smith Alabama [27]
2021 Jordan Addison Pittsburgh [28]
2022 Jalin Hyatt Tennessee [29]
2023 Marvin Harrison Jr. Ohio State [30]

Last six Biletnikoff winners. Only one is not a first round pick. Guess who? Guess why?

Defense is getting deep and talented finally though. Agreed, 3 and outs just can’t happen much to us with how we choose to play football. However conversely our opponents that fail to force us into enough 3-outs are the ones sucking wind come the 4th quarter. Us significantly upgrading at QB the next few years should greatly help limit our 3 and outs for the time being. We’ll see though

See what happened to Texas A&M when Fisher was the HC. Having one of the top talent rosters and couldn't win 9 regular games on a regular basis.

Sorry that Heupel actually being an intelligent offensive mind doesn't result in more stacked boxes for our RB to run against?

Jalin Hyatt not actually being that good of a player is actually a complement to Tennessee's offense

I would like for Tennessee players to succeed in the NFL, and I think we will start to see that more often with some of the guys on the current roster when they go pro. But its just a nice bonus.

One?

Congrats.
That explains why the ppg versus ranked opponents drops off so poorly.
You've only had one of those games under Heupel.

And that won't change. 3 and outs and kicking field goals instead of scoring TDs in the red zone is the death of what type of HUNH spread you are running.

Joe Milton lost 2 starting QB battles in his career before being the starter last year, and Hendon Hooker wasn't anything special until he became the starter at UT. We haven't even really seen Heupel at UT with "his" QB.

This year will tell us a lot about Heupel. He doesn't have a transfer QB starting, he has his guy who has a year in the system and a start against a good defense under his belt already. If we still see the offense sputtering in late game situations with a lead and frequent red zone struggles, its something we are probably going to have to deal with for as long as Heupel is there.

But even with those we can make the playoff every 2 or 3 years at least (which I know isn't a high bar after expansion but no one is going to fire a coach who is making the playoff that often). If those things get rectified, or even just one of them, the offense will be humming.

These clowns are whistling past the graveyard.

Iamaleava has what it takes. Will there be some first year starter hiccups? Of course.

In 2022 LSU fans were ready to sack Daniels. In 2022 Bama fans were ready to cut Milroe.

Iamaleava is the real deal whether these idiots like it or not. 2025 is the year of the breakout.

Iamaleava will be one of the first picks of the 2026 draft. Bookmark this post.

That’s why you thought you were going to destroy a weakened uga team in 2022.

Someone take this Vol fan's temperature. He might be running a fever. He sounds like a reasonable guy.
