Did it sound too blue to fly?

I have been hearing the lonely whippoorwill song for a few weeks now.
Also, I saw 1 single solitary firefly 3 nights ago. Not only was it odd to see a firefly at all, but to only see 1!?! I even waited around for several minutes to see if it lit up again or maybe there were others?
Nothing.
I'm telling myself it's the last firefly on Earth and he's very sad because he's lonely, and I've named him Pancho.
Every night I walk around and look for him, haven't seen him again so I fear he died, or maybe he he's off chasing female firefly arse somewhere else. Either way, Godspeed Pancho.
