despite alot of hype and bloviating, the LSU football program only has a lowly tally of 4 national titles. However, true blue blood programs must have a minimum of 5 titles. Therefore, here is the official list of all true blue blood college football programs (not including ivy league programs since they no longer invest in sports):

Alabama - 18 nattys
Michigan - 12 nattys
Notre Dame - 11 nattys
USC - 11 nattys
mighty Pitt Panthers - 9 nattys
Ohio St - 8 nattys
Minnesota - 7 nattys
Oklahoma - 7 nattys
Michigan St - 6 nattys
Tennessee - 6 nattys
Cal - 5 nattys
Illinois - 5 nattys
Iowa - 5 nattys
Nebraska - 5 nattys
Miami fl - 5 nattys

if your program is not on the above list then it is not a blue blood program, end of story.

also B1G >>> SEC.....8 blue blood programs vs only 3. ACC also has as many blue blood programs as the overrated SEC

I never would have guessed Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Cal, or Michigan St would be on this list.

Weird that Saban left a football power like Michigan State for LSU and their one title.

Long ago moron media members could vote for their favorite Big 10 team to be the national champion. Once the Big 10 was forced to actually beat a SEC team on the field (and not the pansy Pac 12 in the Rose Bowl), the Big 10 mysteriously disappeared.

Congrats to Michigan for winning this past season. Once in a blue moon win for the Big 10.

Counting some of these teams would be the same as you putting the Ivys on this list. Archaic titles all around.

Since 1963

Alabama 11
Miami 5
Nebraska 4
Notre Dame 4
Oklahoma 4
Clemson 3
Florida 3
Florida State 3
Georgia 3
LSU 3
Ohio St 3
Texas 3
USC 3
Michigan 2
Penn State 2

Starting in 1963 is probably still too far back, but at least most of today's coaches were at least alive when these games were played.

so we're counting titles that were retroactively rewarded by computers and polls that didn't even exist at time seasons were played?

well then, LSU gets 1908, 1936, and 1962 added to our list.

seriously, ask some of those schools if they would want to keep their football history or trade with LSU.

or do you think they brag about their titles from before The Wizard of Oz was released and think they somehow make them a "blue blood"?

Now count championships after 1975.

It's stupid to consider all schools that won all of their championships before 1940 as "blue bloods".

If all of your national titles occured before black people were even allowed to attend college, you do not deserve to call yourself a blue blood.
