Terrible thing. However in that voting district in Athens I believe Biden got over 80% of the vote. He opened the gates that the voters there wanted. Let me finish. All these Gen zers and young millennials are ecstatic that I an old guy paid off many of their student loans though I paid mine off in the 80’s with no government help. Go ahead young folks and put Biden back in office. Next thing you will get free is a draft notice and an all expense paid ride on a troop carrier into a WWIII battleground.

My wife paid her way through school as she went.

Tuition now is four times what it was then at UGA. Wages for college students aren't nearly that much.

UGA is one of the best deals for the dollar that you spend, especially with Hope Scholarships added in. Many schools had the same fourfold increase in costs but started at a much higher amount.

Most people who talk about how they paid their way don't realize how much college costs now. It's not the same as it used to be and acting like it is the same just because it was more affordable when you were younger is just a way to earn a "OK Boomer" from those dealing with current prices. As a parent dealing with those price-tags, it frustrates me when people my age or older think college is reasonably priced today.

Back when a 4 year degree cost nothing more than a goat and a couple weeks wages...

What does the tragedy have to do with Biden, Biden voters, and college debt forgiveness? Biden is for gun control and more money in more people's pockets is a good thing.

What kind of piece of shite are you?

Some people always have to politicize a tragedy - both sides do this and it's sick.

Seek mental help.

The fact of the matter is this:

If libs didn't vote for a party that is okay with a completely open Southern border, that girl may be very alive as I type this. This transcends politics and sports!

Identity politics are for the weak-minded and insecure, those who blame others for their lack of success and contentedness in life.

Most people older than 40 paid their student loans. Also took classes that would lead to paying jobs.

no government help

I hate the student loan subsidy crap but this is not as simple as you state.

Define "help"

With the "help" of governmental policy, the US was in a period of tremendous economic growth during the 80s and 90s. With similar "help" the cost of college has now risen far higher than it ever was back in the day. There is tons of research and inflation adjusted statistics that provide context here.

Today's problems have been building for decades...those votes came from Boomers & Gen X as the rest of us were too young to vote at the time. You can complain all you want, but we haven't been the ones in charge to this point.
