I just don’t get ADs. Paying them more does not make them a better coach and no one is trying to hire them right now. Bidding against themselves

Sark record:

Washington - 5-7
Washington - 7-6
Washington - 7-6
Washington - 7-6
Washington - 8-4 - Skipped Fight Hunger Bowl, so doesn't give a shite about hungry people

Southern Cal - 9-4
Southern Cal - 3-2 - fired for being a drunk, sued USC, and lost

Texas - 5-7
Texas - 8-5 - Lost bowl. Was probably drunk.
Texas - 12-2 - Finally a really good season in his 10th season of being a head coach.

Horns are happiest when they are spending money.

These ridiculous high salaries for football coaches led on by Florida (spurrier) Alabama (Saban) resulted in this NIL mess. Players started wanting their piece of the pie seeing so much money being paid out.

10M seems high but it ain't my money. CFP appearance this year bought him 3 more seasons at least. If he tanks each of those, 40M isn't insurmountable, as the Aggies know well.

Maybe it's a good move. Maybe it's a waste of money.

Who knows...

But we'll be fine either way.

Texas has "frick you" money, plain and simple.
