How much blame falls on Deboer who had to know what was going on?

This is one reason I go back and forth on the transfer portal. Clearly, Deboer and Grubb had to have known there was still a good chance that Grubb might be heading to Seattle, but they still decided to mislead the players, fans and the university.

I know some Alabama fans will try to rationalize the situation and say Grubb was telling the truth and that he was Alabama's new OC when he stood before The Red Elephant Club and made that statement. Believe that if it makes you feel better, but the reality is, he and Deboer had to have known there was still some negotiating going on behind the scene, but still decided to proceed forward. These two coaches have been together for 10+ years and clearly have a very, very close relationship dating back to his days coaching NAIA. I find it extremely hard to believe that Deboer did not know what was going on with one of his best friends.

Despite what some Alabama fans may say, how does this situation damage the relationship Deboer has with the players, recruits, fans and university officials moving forward?

Say what you want, but in less than 30 days, Alabama has gone from one of the most storied and respected programs in the country - thanks to Saban - to a program in complete disarray and searching for a new identity moving forward!

It's clear that this is not the start Deboer wanted, but his continued missteps won't be tolerated very long. Looking back, maybe it was a great idea to allow Saban to have an office nearby!

Continue the trend of past MSU AD’s fricking up historical SEC programs

Complete disarray is way too much. They went from a top 3 program to top Top 10 at worst after losing the greatest coach ever.

Lets see with KD can do before we pronounce them dead.

Grubb was always leaving for an NFL spot after last season. You are just po'd that he didn't announce it earlier to hurt the class. Grubb is on track for an NFL head job. His timeline was to be a friend to his Head coach, not to satisfy fans of other schools. Deboer is not stupid. He knows how to to play the game. This guy is not the half retarded Mike DuBose and that bothers you.
