I had to go to bed at the half. Looks like we had a hella second half, hate I missed it.

I called it quits after we started the 2nd half on 7-0 run. I'm going to have to go back and watch the rest.

Losses: Baylor, App St, MSU, Bama, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Worst loss App St, but on road.

Key wins: Bama, MSU, USC all at home.

If SEC tournament does not matter for seeding, we are probably on the 4 line, but I think IF we get a good win over any of the teams with 10+SEC wins, we could bump up to 3 line IF other things happen.

#10 looked like he came to the arena straight from a 12 hour shift as a UPS driver

If Tennessee wins out and we beat Georgia we should be the #2 seed in the SEC Tournament.

If South Carolina wins out we could be anywhere from 5 to 3.

Looks like the most likely scenario is that we are the 3 and will play the winner of UF/UGA

That whole team looks like they were scrounged up at a YMCA gym an hour before the game.

55 could shoot some free throws even with that weird arse routine

Changed the rules to where the defender has to be set before the offensive player leaves his feet. Bruce has said it has changed the way he is going to recruit (aka go after guys that attack the rim). If you’re on defense you basically have to be set well, and I mean well before the contact. Guys aren’t even really trying to get them because you’re going to get called for a block.

It has definitely made the game rougher and more physical.

Good. The scenario they showed during the game had us playing UK if we win the first one.

I kind of disagree. The block/charge call was so inconsistent. Plus it was dangerous for both players. Those were just shitty arse refs last night. I like the new verticality rule. If you go straight up and don’t swipe down with your hands contact is ok. Now does that mean they get the calls correct? No. But the intent is to be able to contest shots without having both players going to the ground on the block/charge call from previous years.

I hope the officiating gets better on those. Like I mentioned last night call what you actually see not what you think happened.

What is wrong with that? I think that's a really good scenario

I personally think UF is the team I want to play least in the entire league, followed closely by Kentucky

SDSU, Illinois and Alabama all lost last night. Those are the teams we're competing for to lock up the 4 seed in the tourney. Still see us having an outside shot at getting to a 3 seed but a few teams are going to have to finish poorly and we'd probably need to win the SEC tourney for that to happen

Yeah, Lunardi bumped us to the 2nd 4 seed right behind Kentucky and right ahead of Bama

Question - how many steps can you take before traveling is called>?

You can leave your pivot foot, but you can’t come back down on it. Basically the rule is two steps but there are several different permutations.

Sometimes they do travel, but some guys have great footwork and understand the rule very well.

People forget that you can pass or shoot off your pivot foot, but you cannot initiate a dribble from step foot.

A two foot jump stop gives you some flexibility.

On a catch, you have step, step, shoot.

The Eurostep is a specialized technique that can be used.

several different permutations.

1. The step back action can look like a violation, but it is within the rules of executed properly.
2. Same with the Eurostep.
3. Same with up and under type moves, drop steps, etc.

Players train to use proper footwork.

The most common travel is usually lifting pivot foot on a dribble, drive.

Players have gotten good at utilizing the gather step, which makes a lot of people think a travel happened. Giannis abuses it but by the book it’s clean.

The thing that drives me nuts are the bigs that shuffle their feet and it doesn’t get called enough.
