If the rumors are true that he's coming back until he's projected as a top 40 pitch, there's a good chance Sears returns.

I'm different.

Sean Pedulla in Nate Oats system would be crazy. I could picture him being a "Point God" in this system.

He's extremely smart and crafty. I think Coach Oats could really develop him into one of the best guards in the country because he has the all the tools.

I see a lot of Payton Pritchard in him.

Yeah that's an odd one. He's not super efficient and turns the ball over a good bit. Doesn't really seem like someone Oats would see much in.

I think he'd be a very solid replacement for Mark Sears. The TOs concerned me but Vecenie even said when he watched him play that he thinks a lot of that was because of how reliant VT was on him for the offense. I think in this offense he'd see a lot more of an efficient role.

Having said all this, there's still only two people that have mentioned us with him and they have a combined 150 followers between the two. One of them responded to a comment I made saying he was best friends with his brother and then deleted it (which may not be too outlandish since he has 4 brothers). Regardless, not a whole lot of true insiders backing this one, but they're now saying he's visiting with Cliff next weekend so we'll see soon enough.

I just want to put this out there...

Sean Pedulla is a NATURAL POINT GUARD. I guarantee you Coach Oats is saying to himself..if I can get this guy in our system with all these shooters around him and lob threats it's going be nasty. We lacked a TRUE POINT GUARD last season. We don't need nobody to replace Mark Sears (if he decides to leave)..we need a FACILITATOR. We relied on Aaron Estrada to do that this past season.

The guy got double teamed a lot at VA Tech because he was pretty much the only one who could go create something.

By the way Aden Holloway ain't near Pedulla's level yet.

Im gonna trust Oats but Pedulla is so inefficient. If I have to choice between him and Holloway give me Aden all day

Pedulla is

a 0.82PPP off Ball screens
0.97 on spot ups
0.97 in transition

Those aren’t winning numbers IMO

That's your opinion. I respect it.

Was Sean Pedulla supporting cast good though?

Holloway was on a better team and he was terrible.

I get some of the concern with Pedulla, but I also think this take is a little funny. I realize Aden was a freshman, but he was also in a much better situation as well and far more inefficient as a whole. Pedulla has high turnovers, but that has a lot to do with his usage which wouldn't be close to the same here. For instance he had a similar or better turnover percentage than all 3 of JQ's seasons here and a higher eFG% (which should only go up) than 2 of those 3 seasons.

I see him as a more athletic Joe Girard. That’s probably a terrible comparison that’s coming to my mind just because they’re white

I love it.

I think Coach Oats can develop him in this system and build his confidence back up.

He's similar to JQ in terms of having the basketball on a string.
