Did he "pass them" (aka take snaps before them in one game) because he was better, or because Reese was an idiot?

Anyone who can realistically analyze what they're seeing on a football field saw that Simpson was pretty good in his limited snaps last year.

We probably have walk-on's better than Buchner.

My guess is they went with experience first. Why didn't Milroe play? Was that ever confirmed?

There were a lot of people who thought Buchner looked good in practice. But in the game he looked like arse.

Boz, were you in that camp? Somebody on this board thought Buchner was legit.

At the invite only scrimmage Buchner went right down the field and scored. It looked easy to him. He seemed to be. When put in the USF game he was complete crap. No idea how that happened he seemed ok at least at ND.

His mechanics were all fricked in the USF game. He made plenty of solid reads but couldn’t hit the broadside of the barn on short and intermediate routes

Oddly enough had he not missed Burton in the endzone by 3-4 inches he may have stayed in that game

I’m not sure but it was ugly. We were all sorts of messed up. Then the rain hit. Ooof.

Pouring rain
Hangover coming off of a big loss to Texas
Oline was historically bad the first half of the season
USF wasn't as nearly as bad as it seemed at the time, and their dudes smelled some blood in the water after that Texas loss.
Buchner started the game

Defense played very salty that day. They showed up.

That’s why it is nice to have a few in-state guys. Roydell wasn’t losing to fricken USF.

LOVE this from Ty!

Alabama QB Ty Simpson, who had an excellent spring, will not be entering the transfer portal, his father tells @247Sports. "He told Coach DeBoer, 'I want to be a part of your first national championship team.'"

Ty may end up being like Mac where he waited for his turn and reaps the benefits.
