In prior interviews with Rich Eisen, comedian Larry David has expressed his disdain for field goals

In prior interviews with Rich Eisen, comedian Larry David has expressed his disdain for field goals and extra-point kicks. He's so "obsessed" with removing goalposts from football he contacted The Rock with a proposal for his new UFL...
quote:

"He was nice enough to call back," David said. "And so we had a conversation. I pitched him my no-goalpost idea, and I thought it was going to happen. He was completely into it."

David explained to Eisen why he wants goalposts removed entirely.

"There's no reason for them," David declared. "Suppose there was a baseball game, and there were two parallel bars in deep center field that were 12 feet apart. And you can get a guy off the bench to hit a fungo, and if he got through the bars, you get a run. I mean, what's the point? It has nothing to do with the game."

I think extra points are dumb, but field goals are fine with me. Just make TD's 7 points. But making a 60 yard field goal in crunch time is pretty cool.

Never kicked PAT in neighborhood and schoolyard games and those all worked out.

I’d love to see extra points in any form after a touchdown eliminated. It kills the flow of the game.

I agree with you, I don't find him that funny even though he's had a long-running emmy award winning show. But he has a point, they could do away with extra-points and Fgs, and make the game more interesting by having teams go for 2 or more points for extra points.

Yup he’s an idiot he’s wrote and produced 2 of the most famous and successful shows in the history of television. I think you’re the idiot.

It's how the game was set up when it was created, so it has everything to do with the game.

I've thought the same
