To think HoneyBadger is a hardened NFL veteran now. I think Les did him a favor by going hard on him. Tyrann straightened out from that and he’s been a great pro since

I think vs this year’s offense would be a better comparison

2019 LSU would not lose to any team in CFB history.

Honey Badger has gifts that just cannot be taught. In over 5 decades of watching football, I have never seen a collegiate defender be so disruptive that you could reliably count on him to produce (or at least set up) points. You cannot watch him play in 2010 and 2011 and not be convinced he had an extra-sensory ability to just "know" where the ball was. He might not be able to get to it, but he knew where it was, he either smelled it or had some sort of Spidey (*ahem* "Badger") sense.

Having said that, he is absolutely correct. #9 as a 5th year senior was all the edge 2019 needed, and they still had all the other weapons, an OL that played extremely well down the stretch and so on.

Can we pick both? I can’t pick one. They are both legendary

That defense was good but could stop Bama’s 2011 offense, how they gonna stop the ?? CFB Offense?

They DID stop Bama 2011 offense the first time and did a great job the second time.

If we had that darn defense with even this years offense, we’d kick everyone’s butt by 50.

I hope LSU puts a 2011 type game of defense on the field again one day. That was a fun group to watch.

Watching Mingo catch the Oregon running back in the backfield was pretty awesome.

I was at that game and that play with Mingo and the Honey badgers disrupting the Oregon Kick return team was a sight to behold.. Oregon guy got scared and dropped the ball near the goal line

That was honest of him to pick the 2019 team when he was on the 2011 team. I agree with him.

If both playing their best game, 2019 offense wins.
If both playing half-arse, 2011 defense wins.

AL ran that defense off the field in Game 2.
2019 wins.

Not really. Bama had 384 yards total, only 21 points, and controlled the ball for 11 more minutes than LSU. They beatus with defense and took advantage of our shitty coaching and QB play.

How can you even say something so ignorant

The CLM defenses were good, then again, they had to be. CEO simply was here when the best offense possible was on the field. Nobody stopped 2019.

The 2011 offense was physical and would have limited the scoring opportunities.
The 2019 defense was good at the end of the season but it wasn’t close to the 2011 Bama defense which was as good or better than LSUs 2011 defense.
Bama beat them by keeping the ball and owning TOP.

This is a closer comparison than people think because of the other side of the ball. 2011 during the regular season would have shoved the ball down their throat because of how physical they were.

2011 pass rush wasnt game changing. Look at auburn 2019 that's what kept them in the game.

2011 corners and safety were FAR FAR better than every team 2019 played. Brockers was a game changer.

I mean a Bama team led AJ McCarron beat their defense 21-0. Burrow would carve them up.

It’s not exactly that easy.
I’d pick 2019 offense to win, but the 2011 offense didn’t do their defense any favors in that game.

2011 offense vs 2019 defense is the difference bc they would have limited scoring opportunities.
user avatar

Not quite that simple. It was only 6-0 at halftime. The defense had to hold off Bama’s offense the entire game. That’s asking a lot of one side of the ball.

2019 easily
